Hip Hop/ R&B

Rihanna

The biggest anticipation of them all.. Rihanna’s new album! The songstress herself described the album as “reggae-inspired or reggae-infused” to Vogue last year, and there’s a constant drip-feed of information about it (Shaggy revealed he’d declined a request to collaborate), but no timeframe for it just yet. Still, we think the release might finally land in 2020.

Young Thug, “Punk”

Young Thug is coming back with more heat in 2020. The prolific rapper has revealed that his next album, “Punk” will drop in February. The album also features a collaboration with the late, Juice Wrld.

Mac Miller, “Circles” (Jan. 17)

Mac Miller’s posthumous album has arrived! The family had announced the album last week and shared a new song, “Good News.” Miller’s new release is meant to be a sister album to his 2018’s Grammy-nominated “Swimming,” completed with the help of producer Jon Brion.

070 Shake, “Modus Vivendi” (Jan. 17)

Recently featured on Beyoncé’s Lion King-inspired album, 070 Shake enters the new decade with her first album, “Modus Vivendi.”

Justin Bieber

With appearances on tracks by Luis Fonsi, DJ Khaled, Ed Sheeran and Gucci Mane, Bieber hasn’t exactly been hard to hear in the half-decade since his last solo record, 2015’s “Purpose.” With his comeback single, “Yummy,” YouTube reality series, a world tour that kicks off in May, an album is definitely going to be released soon. Plus, he reveals it’s an all R&B album.

The Weeknd

Just a few weeks ago, The Weeknd scored his fourth No. 1 single in the U.S. with his new single “Heartless.” This single was the first taste of his forthcoming album and it might be one of the biggest R&B titles of the year.

Migos, Culture III (Jan. 24)

Over the last two years, Migos’s Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset have each released solo projects. Now, all three are reuniting in 2020 for Culture III.

Frank Ocean

Frank Ocean has been releasing a steady drip of singles since releasing his album “Blonde” in 2016, but we’re expecting a new full-length this year. Why? Well, for starters, he’s been talking his new material up enough in interviews and he’s headlining Coachella in April! We believe new music is definitely coming for Frank Ocean and to be honest, we cannot wait!
