Foodie, Podcast host and Kardashian BFF, Jonathan Cheban, shows us this year’s hottest food trends and tells us how he got the name, “Food God”.
Clinton Hall: Crispy Chicken Stack
The biggest food craze has been the new Popeyes Fried Chicken Sandwich. You can’t get one in New York until October, so some of the hot spots like Clinton Hall are making their own. Clinton Hall just added their “Crispy Chicken Stack” to the menu yesterday. It’s a buttermilk fried chicken breast stacked high with bread and butter pickles, rainbow slaw, crushed hot cherry peppers, fried pickles and Mike’s Hot Honey.
Marky’s Caviar: King Crab & Caviar Hot Dog
This is the “King Crab & Caviar Hot Dog” from Marky’s Caviar. Marky’s is a new caviar bar on Madison Avenue which opened in the spring. There’s also a secret speakeasy in the back. It looks like a hot dog, but it’s Alaskan king crab on a brioche with avocado, sour cream, pickled mustard & Marky’s Beluga di Venezia.
East Village Pizza: Double Stacked Pizza
This is the “Double Stacked Pizza” from East Village Pizza. These double stacked pizzas have been on the menu for the past two months and the only thing better than one pizza is two pizzas! It’s two pizzas stacked, with the toppings baked inside. This one is a cheese on top with buffalo chicken between.
Ray’s Candy Store: Fried Oreos
These fried Oreos are a favorite of Kim Kardashian. Kendall was actually the first to find a gem called Ray’s Candy Store in the East Village. It’s open 24/7 and owned by a man named Ray who is in his 80s. He’s famous for these fried Oreos.
Barton G: Cotton Candy Pompadour
“Marie Antoinette – Let Them Eat Cake” cotton candy pompadour from Barton G comes with “cupcakes” filled with blackberry jam and topped with a roasted almond buttercream. Barton G is known for their extravagant food items and have restaurants in Miami, LA, and Chicago with a New York spot coming soon.
