Imagine that old-fashioned ice cream parlor your Mom would take you to when you were a kid as a treat for a job well done. Well, Tipsy Scoop is the adult only “ice cream barlour” in NYC that everyone is talking about.
Since the charming shop is just a a few blocks from the Wendy studio, Wendy decided to stop in after a long day on the job. Owner and Tipsy Scoop creator, Melissa Tavss, showed Wendy what Tipsy Scoop is all about.
Melissa’s ancestors are no stranger to ice cream. Back in the 1800’s, Melissa’s great, great, great grandfather brought ice cream from Italy to Scotland. It was a big hit, and he quickly grew from selling ice cream on the street to opening up his own shop. By the 1900’s, Melissa’s great, great grandfather opened several shops in Scotland, eventually being named the President of the Ice Cream Alliance of Great Britain. Melissa put her own modern spin on the family business by infusing ice cream with different liquors.
The ice cream is smooth, tasty and delicious, with lots of flavors to choose from!
After a long #hotmonday full of Hot Topics, Wendy needed a boozy flight to get her feeling right. Melissa scooped out Raspberry Limoncello, Mango Margarita, Strawberry White Sangria, and a special “Hot Topics” flavor (it’s Prickly Pear and Rosé) for Wendy to try. With an ABV of up to 5%, the tipsy scoops “will definitely put a pep in your step.”
In this summer heat, there is nothing more refreshing than a citrusy treat – their take on the Aperol Spritz. The eye catching summer flavor consists of aperol, prosecco orange sorbet, garnished with an aperol spritz creamsicle ice cream sandwich. Orange might not be everyone’s flavor, but Wendy’s crew ate the leftover, and it was everything your aperol creamsicle dreams could have hoped for.
