Maxi Skirt:
The hottest hemline for fall falls all the way to the floor. The skirt we chose for both looks is from Victoria’s Secret and costs $40. For the edgy daytime look, pair with a chunky sweater and top with a super soft leather motorcycle jacket which adds an instant rocker vibe without being costume-y. Play with the accessories and add a sequin pouch bag and faux fur lace-up platform boots.

Up the glam factor and focus on creating shape and adding sparkle. This oversized sequin tunic becomes evening-appropriate — and body-conscious — with the addition of a metallic chain belt. For subtle sex appeal, style it off-the-shoulder. No matter what the occasion, keep in mind that with a maxi skirt, your shoes should NOT peek out, unless you’re walking or sitting. The look is at its best when the hemline skims the floor.

The bow blouse can also be surprisingly casual — although still very sophisticated. Cropped, slim cargo pants and a fitted denim jacket create a modern twist on the classic Equestrian style. The red clutch provides an unexpected pop of color, and leopard ballet flats give a touch of whimsy and add a dose of one of the trendiest prints of the season.

One of my favorite must-have items of the season is the faux-fur vest. Both Ava and Loretta are wearing a Sanctuary vest from Zappos.com. The flared jeans are a must for this look and the silk blouse keeps it feminine and the embellished belt adds some subtle bling. The platform boots and satchel bag complete this updated blast-from-the-past ensemble.
