Pop of Color!
The 3 hottest nail colors for the fall are deep jewel tones and metallics.

Magnetic:
Magnetic nail polish uses metallic particles to create a 3D design on your nails while staying smooth to the touch. It’s really fun and easy – all you do is apply one coat of the polish to your nail and let it dry. Then apply one more coat and hold the cap over the nail.

The cap has a magnet on the top of it, so as you hold it over the nail, the iron powder in the nail polish is gravitating toward the magnet which is creating a really cool design. You only need to hold it here for about 15 seconds for the design to appear.

Half Moon Manicure:
The “Half Moon” Manicure is a really chic and really easy to do at home. All you need is two of your favorite colors. Here we have a white nail polish from MAC, and a grey/taupe color from Jesses Girl called Stiletto.

Leopard Print:
The Leopard print nail is really fun and easy to do especially if you don’t have the steadiest hands. The first step is to coat your nails with a solid color. Do a base coat with “All Things Girly” and “Fashion Friday”.

Once you’ve given them a chance to dry for a few seconds, take a black nail polish using a script brush and create “C” or “bracket” shapes surrounding each of the dots. You can also add random black dots in empty spaces. Wait about 15-20 minutes before you apply a top coat so the design lasts for a lot longer.

This season, we are seeing smokey eyes in shades of blue and purple and bold lips in plums and reds, but makeup is really about choosing what you feel in the moment.

Whether it’s a smokey eye or a bold lip, the holidays are around the corner and this season it’s all about glamour and sophistication.

Just remember that when you are wearing a smokey eye keep your lips neutral and vice versa. You don’t want to look overdone.

Foundation:
Beauty starts with great skin. Foundation creates a perfect ‘canvas’ for the rest of the makeup you are going to apply. The right foundation will make you look like you’re not wearing any foundation at all.

Everyone has yellow undertones in their skin. Make sure that your foundation is yellow based. In order to find the correct shade, swipe a line of the formula on your forehead or on the side of your cheek. Do not test foundation on the back of your hand, as your hands are never the same color as your face. If the line of color disappears perfectly into your skin, you are wearing the correct shade.

It’s a good idea to have two shades of foundation: one for the summer and one for the winter. Our skin in the summer tends to be darker than it is during the winter.

Concealer:
Concealers are applied to instantly lighten up under the eyes making you look less tired and refreshed. Your concealer should always have yellow undertones and be one to two shades lighter than the color of your foundation.

Lips:
Nothing polishes off and pulls together a look quite like a great lip color. Lip Color is the simplest of all makeup steps and a great way to instantly change your look.

The key when working with plum lip colors is to find a formula that will leave your lips feeling moisturized and plump, not dry, and then layer a sheer lip gloss on top of it to keep it looking modern and fresh. It is also important to find a plum color that will complement and enhance your skin tone. To do this, you have to find your natural or everyday shade first. Your natural shade should match the color of your lips. Once you have identified what this shade is, you have the basis for selecting more dramatic colors. Most lip colors with the same undertone as the neutral shade will look flattering.

Blush:
When you are wearing a bold lip, you want to pair it with a natural looking cheek that enhances the skin. Don’t choose too bright of a blush color as you don’t want your lips competing with your cheeks, or it will look like you have too much makeup on. Nothing makes a woman look prettier and fresher than a pop of pink blush on her cheeks; it instantly gives a lift to the face, making you look refreshed.

To find the right color blush, you want to match the color of your cheeks after you have exercised. That natural flush will determine your natural color blush.

Eyes:
Eye shadow helps accentuate the eyes and makes eye color stand out. Neutrals work best for most applications, but bright colors are fun to experiment with, especially when you are young. If you are wearing a bright eye, keep the rest of the face neutral to balance the effect.
