Mariah Carey’s Big Lawsuit

Mariah Carey is being sued for $3 million! Back in October, Mariah lashed out at the promoters of her canceled South American concerts.

Mariah then sued the promoters and demanded they pay her in full. Now, the promoters are hitting back. They claim they’ve already paid Mariah $700k of her fee, and they want that money back. They also want $2 million from Mariah for alleged defamation corresponding with the tweet from October (which has since been deleted). It was reported last year that Mariah blamed James Packer for missing those concerts. This became a part of her $50 million inconvenience fee.

Ashleigh Banfield V. Katie Way

Aziz Ansari’s sex scandal has unleashed a nasty war. Remember, an anonymous woman recounted a bad sexual experience she had with Aziz. HLN’s Ashleigh Banfield went on air and said the story was a setback to the “Me Too” movement. Twenty-two year-old Katie Way, the writer who reported the piece, clapped back at Ashleigh. Katie called Ashleigh “a reporter nobody under 45 has heard of” and a “has-been with burgundy lipstick and bad highlights.” Katie also said she hopes this makes Ashleigh feel “really relevant for a little while.”

Ashleigh went on the air and clapped back at Katie:

“If you truly believe in the ‘Me Too’ movement, if you truly believe in women’s rights, if you truly believe in feminism, the last thing you should do is attack someone in an ad hominem way… We do not attack people for their age or their highlights or their lipstick, because it is the most hypocritical thing a woman who says she supports the women’s movement could ever do and that’s the caliber of the woman who was given all of this power and was able to wield this power.”

Ashleigh will be here next Friday, January 26th!

Mike “The Situation” is in a Situation

Looks like Mike “The Situation” might go to jail for a very long time. Remember, last week Mike and his brother, Marc, rejected a plea deal in their tax fraud case. They were accused of not paying taxes on $9 million of income, and depositing cash into different bank accounts to avoid reporting income. Tomorrow, Mike and Marc go to court tomorrow and they are apparently going to take the deal and plead guilty. Details of the deal are not yet known, but Mike faces up to 15 years behind bars, and Marc faces up to 25 years!

Ann Curry Speaks Out on Matt Lauer

Ann Curry says she wasn’t shocked when she heard Matt Lauer was fired for inappropriate sexual behavior. Ann and Matt anchored the “Today” show for two years (2011-2012). Yesterday, Ann appeared on CBS This Morning for her first interview since being fired from the “Today Show,” and she didn’t hold back when asked about Matt. “We clearly are waking up to a reality, an injustice that has been occurring for some time. And I think it will continue to occur until the glass ceiling is finally broken,” she said. “I’m not talking about people being attracted to other people. I’m talking about people in the work place who are powerful, who are abusing that power — and women and men are suffering.”
