This is when it really matters, people. No matter how the stars have performed so far in the competition, it’s anyone’s game at this point. Last night, the stars preformed two dances. For the first dance, the pros chose a song for their star to dance to. The second dance had a theme of iconic dances from the star’s past.

PRO’S CHOICE

Drew Scott & Emma Slater

DREW SCOTT, EMMA SLATER

ABC/Craig Sjodin

“I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by The Proclaimers
Tango
#TeamHotProperty

Drew is willing to walk 500 miles to win this competition! Unfortunately, he has to dance well to win. Len said Drew lost his posture, his technique, and just looked clumsy. Carrie Ann said that the tango lacked artistry, so it didn’t really remind her of a tango at all. Furthermore, Carrie Ann said the kilt he was wearing was a little too revealing, but gives him kudos for it. Despite the negative comments, Drew’s scores weren’t terrible.

Carrie Ann: 8
Len: 8
Bruno: 8
TOTAL: 24/30

Victoria Arlen & Val Chmerkovskiy

VICTORIA ARLEN, VALENTIN CHMERKOVSKIY

ABC/Craig Sjodin

“To Build a Home” (feat. Patrick Watson) by Cinematic Orchestra
Waltz
#TeamViVa

Victoria has had quite the journey in her life, and this dance told the story of her parents helping her get through being a deathly ill child. This dance meant so much to Victoria, and she was a better dancer for it.

Carrie Ann: 9
Len: 9
Bruno: 9
TOTAL: 27/30

Jordan Fisher & Lindsay Arnold

LINDSAY ARNOLD, JORDAN FISHER

ABC/Craig Sjodin

“Brother” (feat. Gavin DeGraw) by NEEDTOBREATHE
Argentine Tango
#TeamFishUponAStar

Jordan and Lindsey are killing the game, but Lindsey suffered a knee injury and is nervous she won’t be able to finish out the season. Carrie Ann didn’t have any notes for Lindsey, but she said that Jordan needs to make sure he stays on top of himself. Len and Carrie Ann agreed when saying this was not his best dance on a number of levels. On the other hand, Bruno thought the routine was Jordan’s most mature dance yet! We’re getting mixed signals here. Jordan later shared that a nail went into his eye during rehearsal today, and he scratched his cornea. Even on their worst day, they do fantastic!

Carrie Ann: 9
Len: 9
Bruno: 10
TOTAL: 28/30

Lindsey Stirling & Mark Ballas

LINDSEY STIRLING, MARK BALLAS

ABC/Craig Sjodin

“Head High” by Alexander Jean
Contemporary
#TeamSTARK

There’s no denying that Lindsey is a great dancer, and she blew Len away with her performance. Bruno loved that Lindsey was able to let herself be free. Carrie Ann called Lindsey’s dancing primal! More than anything, Lindsey’s growth as a dancer is obvious.

Carrie Ann: 10
Len: 9
Bruno: 10
TOTAL: 29/30

Frankie Muniz & Witney Carson

FRANKIE MUNIZ, WITNEY CARSON

ABC/Craig Sjodin

“Shake” by Yin Yang Twins & Pitbull
Salsa
#TeamFranneyPack

Frankie made a promise to Witney: if they made it into the semi-finals, he would take his shirt off. He kept his promise! This dance was meant to boost Frankie’s confidence, because he is doing amazing in this competition! Len wasn’t a fan of the twerking, and Carrie Ann said Frankie kept getting ahead of the beat, but from a viewer perspective, the routine was entertaining and fun!

Carrie Ann: 8
Len: 8
Bruno: 9
TOTAL: 25/30

ICONIC DANCE

Drew Scott & Emma Slater

DREW SCOTT, EMMA SLATER

ABC/Craig Sjodin

“Yeah!” (feat. Lil Jon, Ludacris) by Usher (Season 17, Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff)
Jazz
#TeamHotProperty

We have to give Emma and Drew props for defying gravity. He was swinging her around like a jump rope! Carrie Ann begged them to never do that lift again. It wasn’t necessary. Drew swears that he never dropped her, but we were losing our minds on the couch at home.

Carrie Ann: 8
Len: 8
Bruno: 8
TOTAL: 24/30

Victoria Arlen & Val Chmerkovskiy

VICTORIA ARLEN, VALENTIN CHMERKOVSKIY

ABC/Craig Sjodin

“Bang Bang” by will.i.am (Season 17, Amber Riley and Derek Hough)
Charleston
#TeamViVa

Victoria was a “performing powerhouse” with a ton of energy! She had rhythm, she had pizazz, and she wasn’t looking down at her feet! Despite having leg spasms between her first dance and her second dance, Victoria came out on top and showed the world that she can do anything she put her mind to.

Carrie Ann: 9
Len: 10
Bruno: 10
TOTAL: 29/30

Jordan Fisher & Lindsay Arnold

LINDSAY ARNOLD, JORDAN FISHER

ABC/Craig Sjodin

“Proud Mary” by Tina Turner (Season 22, Paige VanZant and Mark Ballas)
Jive
#TeamFishUponAStar

To get a standing ovation from the entire audience (plus Carrie Ann and Bruno) says a lot. The dance was absolute perfection. Bruno put it best. “Rarely a remake can top an original, but this one did.”

Carrie Ann: 10
Len: 10
Bruno: 10
TOTAL: 30/30

Lindsey Stirling & Mark Ballas

LINDSEY STIRLING, MARK BALLAS

ABC/Craig Sjodin

“Feel So Close” by Calvin Harris (Season 18, Meryl Davis and Maks Chmerkovskiy)
Tango
#TeamSTARK

The dance was good, but Carrie Ann was torn as to how she felt about it. According to Carrie Ann, there were points where Lindsey’s turns were kind of funky (not in the good way), and there were other points where Lindsey’s lunges and stretches were phenomenal.

Carrie Ann: 9
Len: 9
Bruno: 10
TOTAL: 28/30

Frankie Muniz & Witney Carson

FRANKIE MUNIZ, WITNEY CARSON

ABC/Craig Sjodin

“Carnival De Paris” by Dario G (Season 4, Apolo Anton Ohno and Julianne Hough)
Paso Doblé
#TeamFranneyPack

There’s no denying that the viewers love Frankie. Frankie is arguably the hardest worker this season. There was one consistent criticism about Frankie’s routine — He needed to have better form.

Carrie Ann: 9
Len: 8
Bruno: 9
TOTAL: 26/30

The couples that made it through last night go to the finals next week. The two couples left in jeopardy were Frankie with Witney and Victoria with Val.

When Victoria’s name was announced, she instantly burst into tears, making us a little teary eyed at home. She is one of the most resilient people in this competition, and she is a strong woman for getting so far in the competition.

We love you Victoria!
