Last night, the stars commemorated the most memorable year in their lives and chose the songs that they wanted to dance to.

No one would have guessed that Frankie cannot remember a large part of his childhood. He’s not sure when the memory loss started, but he believes it has something to do with his nine concussions. Len thought the dance was “light and lovely.” Of course, Frankie still has to improve his footwork, but who doesn’t these days? The audience can tell Frankie really enjoys dancing!

When Nikki started experiencing severe body pain and learned she had a neck injury, she was told she could never enter the ring again. She persevered, fought through it, and went on to fight in the ring once more. Nikki put the emotions from her recovery into this dance. She discovered a new part of her inner dancer. She showed her strength in more than one way. Nikki shared that Artem was able to show her how to let her guard down while dancing.

The song started out with a lot of emotion, then it turned to a happy dance! It left the judges feeling uplifted and feeling good about Derek’s dance improvements!

Jordan’s most memorable year is when his grandparents’ officially adopted him. Jordan’s Mom had him when she was 16, and she suffered from substance abuse. Bruno called this dance flawless. He danced with an open heart and sincerity. Carrie Ann did a lot of crying last night, but for Jordan’s dance, she cried because it was so beautiful. For this, Jordan received the first 10 of the season!

Sasha felt completed when she got engaged to her fiancé. 2016 had been a hell of a year, and this made everything worth it. Sasha somehow managed to make all of the judges happy. The technique was down, the foxtrot was there, and Sasha was able to clearly tell her story through dance.

Vanessa’s most memorable year was when she gave birth to her third child at only 29 weeks. It was a terrifying time for the Lachey family, but they got through it, and have a three happy and healthy children as a result. Vanessa could hardly stop herself from crying during the dance. Vanessa’s story even made Maks get a little teary eyed.

Drew wasn’t always a successful Property Brother. He used to be a prosperous realtor and a failing actor. “It was a full on jive with a feel good factor,” Bruno said. This was Drew’s best dance yet. According to Carrie Ann, there was one problem with Drew’s dancing last night. Apparently, his hands looked like dinosaur hands. He needs to be more mindful of his form. Aside from this oversight, Drew got straight eights from the judges.

Victoria couldn’t pinpoint a specific memorable year for her. When she was young and her body started attacked itself, she essentially became a vegetable. She had seizures every two to five minutes, and even forgot who her parents were. What Victoria has been through, and what she has achieved is beyond belief, as Bruno put it. Victoria was able to talk, move, walk, and now dance.

Not every star can win the Mirror Ball. The couples in jeopardy are Nick and Peta, and Derek and Sharna.

No night is easy to leave DWTS, but most memorable year night is an especially tough one. Nick and Peta are safe again.
