BACHELORETTE RECAP: Off to the Dog House

Rachel is inspired by all of the men she met last week. She is ready to find the love of her life!

We’re pretty sure that blue birds follow Rachel when she wakes up and help her get ready. She’s perfect.

The remaining guys are greeted in the morning by host Chris. “I hope everyone is here for the right reasons.”

This week there are two group dates and a one-on-one date. There will be a rose given on each date, saving three men from elimination. The rest, will have to leave it to fate.

I’m looking for husband material.

Dean, Jack, Jonathan, Blake, Iggy, Kenny, Fred, and Lucas are the first ones to go on a date this season.

She showed off her chill personality by having a BBQ. She was grillin’ up hamburgers and hot dogs, and served Moscow mules.

Right off the bat, the guys questioned Lucas’ personality and intentions. He’s definitely quirky, but Blake is determined to expose him for who he is.

What’s it to Blake though? Why not just let the cards fall where they may?

After the BBQ, Rachel had a surprise for the guys. She brought Bachelor Nation’s biggest fans, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher.

Hollywood’s ultimate couple confessed that The Bachelorette is their “guilty pleasure.” Ashton made a “bold prediction” by saying Rachel’s husband is not in this group.

Mila and Ashton set up a challenge to test the guys’ husband skills. The course included every day husband tasks, including diaper changing, vacuuming, and drain unclogging. The consequence for not completing the course is a trip to the doghouse.

Kenny thought he would win for sure, since he’s a dad and all. Turns out, Lucas did well in this challenge. Kenny and Lucas were neck and neck running to the finish line. Lucas pushed Kenny over at the end of the race, making Kenny come in second.

Lucas proved he’s willing to do whatever it takes to win Rachel over.

The guys cleaned up, and went on to have one-on-one chats.

Blake started off his chat with Rachel by talking about how Lucas is not genuine. She listened to what he had to say, with her arms crossed, and a polite disposition.

Rachel called Dean “a breath of fresh air” compared to the rest of the men on the date. Dean, on the other hand, thinks he blew it by not not going in for a kiss.

Rachel was impressed with Kenny during the challenge and Kenny couldn’t help but gush when he talked about his daughter.

Rachel called the group date “fun and informative.” In the end, she gave the rose to Dean. Dean walked Rachel out and finally got that kiss in! It was well worth the wait. Rachel said the kiss was “sweet, sensual, passionate, and genuine.”

I’m looking for my best friend…

Peter was the lucky man to have the first one-on-one date with Rachel.

Peter and Rachel walk over to a private jet plane to fly off to Palm Springs. Unfortunately for Peter, Rachel planned to bring an extra to the date. Fortunately, it was her dog child Copper.

We are obsessed with Copper.

Peter and Rachel landed, and followed the paw prints on the sidewalk to Bark Fest. There was a pool for people and a pool for dogs. Smoothies for people and smoothies for dogs. Did we mention there were tons of dogs around?

Rachel and Peter spent the day talking about their life, snapping photos, and playing with all of the dogs.

Rachel said the group date couldn’t be going better. Over dinner, Rachel and Peter bonded over their gap teeth. They both love their teeth, and wouldn’t change them if they had the choice.

We love them too!

Peter told Rachel he’s still single because he was broken-hearted. He ended up going to a therapist and is much better in calming his thoughts now. Rachel was over the moon that Peter had a good experience with therapy, because she also had a therapist that changed her for the better.

With Peter exceeding Rachel’s expectations, he was given a rose at the end of dinner. Rachel leaned in for a kiss and got butterflies (in a good way). They finished the night by watching fireworks over the water.

Will, Jamey, Diggy, Alex, Adam, Lee, Matt, Eric, Josiah, and DeMario went on the second group date, where they were prepared to play for Rachel’s heart.

Rachel brought with her the all time NBA leading scorer Kareem Abdul Jabbar. The guys were in complete awe of the situation they were in. The girl of their dreams, and Kareem coaching them to be better basketball players.

After the guys had some time to practice on the court, Kareem told the guys to hit the locker room, change, and get ready to play in front of a full stadium.

The place was packed, including with that creepy doll Adam Jr. (maybe he’s like the new flat Stanley of the Bachelorette???), and DeMario’s maybe girlfriend/maybe ex-girlfriend.

What in the cheatation is going on?

Rachel and Lexi sat down and chatted about how DeMario was her boyfriend of 7 months, and just disappeared from Lexi’s life. He still has the keys to her house.

Really, DeMario?

Rachel doesn’t play around. She pulled DeMario from the locker room and brought him to the bleachers to confront Lexi.

DeMario acted like he had no idea who she was, then he said they dated a few times, then it was that they dated for over 6 months on again off again. Then he broke up with her, then he claimed he mailed Lexi’s keys to her.

She hasn’t gotten them yet.

Lexi decides to settle this once and for all, and show Rachel her phone. Rachel is disappointed with what she sees. “I’m not here to be played, I’m not here to be made a joke of,” Rachel said. “I’m really gonna need you to get the **** out… I can’t even look at you right now.”

DeMario called the whole thing bogus.

We’re gonna assume that the “bogus” part he’s alluding to is when he got caught with a girlfriend.

Rachel made her way to the locker room and told the guys what went down. With tears in her eyes, she asked the guys to be respectful to her, because she’s putting herself out there to find love.

The guys were very supportive and sympathetic during their one-on-one chats with Rachel. One guy stood out over the rest. Josiah showed Rachel how hurt he was by what happened with DeMario, and how protective over Rachel he has already become. For that, he got a rose.

By this point everyone is aware of what happened with DeMario and they’re pissed.

Out of the blue, DeMario showed up to the mansion. Security stopped him and brought Chris out to see what his intentions were. DeMario wants to speak with Rachel one last time before he’s done for good. He wants to explain to Rachel that he did do wrong by her, and he wants to apologize. Chris decides to leave it up to Rachel. Out of curiosity, Rachel decides to give him a chance to say what he has to say.

Before Rachel can make her way over to DeMario, the guys get wind of his arrival. The testosterone takes over and they are out for blood. The guys completely ambush DeMario in front of the mansion.

From the previews for next week, it’s not looking good.

Was it a bad idea for DeMario to come back to the mansion? Should Rachel give him a second chance?
