Gal Gadot broke the glass ceiling this weekend with the debut of the new Wonder Woman film. Wonder Woman is the first female super hero based film and made over $223 million at the global box office. With $38 million made internationally, Wonder Woman has made more than any other super hero film.
Gal Gadot is exceeding expectations as Wonder Woman, but we love her for more than just playing the part.
Here are five reasons why Gal Gadot is a real life Wonder Woman.
She was Miss Israel
At just 18 years old, Gal Gadot won the title of Miss Israel. When she went on to compete in Miss Universe, she hated the idea, and threw the competition. She would come to rehearsals late, wore the wrong dresses and pretended she didn’t know English when Paula Abdul asked her a question.
The fact she can publically admit that is everything.
She totally admitted to fan girling when she saw Cher
No celebrity is big enough to not freak out when they see Cher, even Wonder Woman. C’mon now, who doesn’t love Cher? If you know someone that doesn’t fan out like Gal when they see Cher, do not trust them!
Gal is just like us.
She embraces her body
Gal is 5’10” and rocks it. She stands tall and is not worried about intimidating people with her stature. Gadot showed up to the set of Wonder Woman for reshoots, five months pregnant. Remember that during some of those battle scenes, there’s a good chance Gadot was pregnant with her new daughter, Maya.
Gal knows that the best super power she has as Wonder Woman, is being a Mom of two.
She wore $50 sandals on the red carpet
At the Wonder Woman premiere, Gal was seen wearing a dazzling red Givenchy gown. Her shoe cam showed us she wore flat sandals from Aldo, worth about $50. When Variety asked her why she chose to wear flats to the premiere, she stated without a doubt, “It’s more comfortable. Yeah.”
Wendy understands the struggle. That’s why she changes into flats when she walks around the studio audience.
She dances to Beyoncé when she’s stressed
Gal was waiting in her trailer, while six or more girls did a camera test for the part of Wonder Woman. For anyone, that’s just torture, but for Gal, it’s “enemy Number One,” she told W Magazine. So, she threw on her Wonder Woman dancing shoes, put on Beyoncé’s “Run the World” and danced it out.
Anxiety can’t stand up next to Beyoncé and a good dance session!
Wonder Woman is in theaters now.
