Dulé Hill’s big break goes back more than 30 years ago.

At the age of three, Dulé was attending dance school in East Orange, New Jersey, where his Mother taught ballet. Fast forward to when Dulé was nine. The show “The Tap Dance Kid” put out a search for talented kids. Specifically, those who could sing and dance. To Dulé’s surprise, the show’s talent search made its way to his dance school. After seeing his dancing skills, the show asked Dulé to audition for the show.

Dulé sang “We’ve Got the Whole World in Our Hands,” along with a tap dance routine. It didn’t take long for Dulé to land the gig. This was his first step into showbiz.

Later on, the show signed on for a national tour, and asked Dulé to be the lead role. He left for a year to do the tour, and “the rest is history!”

Dulé went on to star in The West Wing on NBC and Psych on USA.

His new movie, Sleight is in theaters now.
