WATCH THIS: Beauty and the Beast

The highly anticipated tale as old as time is finally here! Disney’s live-action update of Beauty and the Beast is nothing like it’s 1991 animated counterpart. Emily Yoshida of Vulture said, “At every turn, the film seems to ask itself if what the original film did was enough, and answers with a definite ‘no.’” The classic story is taken to a whole other level in this breathtakingly beautiful film.

The story is similar to the original, but there are somethings there that weren’t there before. Yoshida noted that Belle, played by Emma Watson, now lives in a more diverse village. The village is still extremely anti-female, so Belle must get her books on the hush-hush, which she does at a chapel (not a bookstore). This poses a huge threat to Belle that we didn’t exactly get a full glimpse of in the earlier film.

Disney is also making history, and headlines, with its first ever gay character. LeFou, played by Josh Gad, is Gaston’s right hand man in the film, and has his own story when it comes to his sexuality. Director Bill Condon told Attitude LeFou is “confused about what he wants. [He’s] somebody who is just realizing that he has these feelings… it is a nice, exclusively gay moment in a Disney movie.” How you doin’ LeFou?!

Beauty and the Beast is in theaters today!

LISTEN TO THIS: Rick Ross and Zara Larsson

We have two album releases today, so we expanded our playlist to feature both.

Rick Ross Visits Music Choice

Fans have been looking forward to Rick Ross’ “Rather You Than Me” since his Twitter announcement on February 15th. Ross noted what the inspiration was behind his album on its website: “10 years + in this game and it has all led to this moment right here. My entire life I was never given choices, I had to create this shit for myself… Listen to the message, relate to the story, feel the pain and struggle in these lyrics.” “Rather You Than Me” is available today on iTunes, and Rick Ross will be here on March 22nd!

Zara Larsson Portrait Shoot

Next up, we have the young and beautiful Swedish singer and songwriter Zara Larsson. Zara’s album “SO GOOD” was released today, but we were given a tease with her song “So Good,” earlier this year with Ty Dolla $ign. Zara is also well known for her song “Lush Life” released back in 2015. “SO GOOD” is available now on iTunes, and Zara Larsson will hit the Wendy stage on March 23rd!
