I love the me that I am right now.

Today on the show, Wendy shared her heartfelt feelings about the tragic loss of Whitney Houston and revealed why she’s always felt a strong personal connection to the singing legend.

In the “After Show,” Wendy shares more of her own personal struggle with addiction, how she finally managed to get sober and why she’s so thankful for sobriety.

Take a look.

  1. I can’t believe I’m writting this, this is the first time I’ve ever responded to something like this, but after watching your clip’s and seeing how honest you are I had too. I’m a very successful gay BLACK MAN living in the West Village born in Newark and I dealt with the DEVIL’S (coke and meth) for 20 years the entire time becoming more and more successful, falling in love (17 years now / married for 3) but always carrying the guilt from my habits. I would be at the dealers house at 8AM for a 8-ball and back by 2PM for another (both just for myself).. My partner (husband) and I both were part of the downtown and uptown party and sex scene for years and I couldnt bring myself to stop until I was truly ashamed of the person I was looking at in the mirror but by the GRACE of GOD (no rehab) I did stop!! Just like you I would not change a thing because I would not be who I am today but I am so very GRATEFUL and LUCKY that I beat the devil! I’m still successful, married and truly fairytale happy.. I will always miss my BRICK TOWN SISTER WHITNEY!!

    Much Love Wendy

  2. R.I.P. to Whitney Houston

  4. Thanks for being you, I LOVE YOU WENDY ON THE RADIO AND I LOVE YOU ON TV EVEN MORE. I LIVE IN NEW YORK FOR TEN YEARS SO BACK IN THE DAY THE DAY I NEVER LISTEN TO ANYTHING NEGATIVE ABOUT YOU PERIOD AND STILL DO NOT. SO I LOVE YOU TODAY AND ALWAYS!

  5. Hi Wendy, I really like you for so many reasons, but besides all the obvious reasons, I love the fact that you are truly an honest person, I know in your theme song the words are”say it like you mean it’, but you really do. And you speak from your heart. And today’s show and aftershow really touched me. Maybe because I too miss Whitney, maybe because I too, used to do drugs, (thank God 26 yrs sober), or maybe just because I love your show, ….. or maybe for all those reasons…Thank you for reminding me of my past, because it is why i am who I am today… I am a born again Christian, and i too know what my demons were…I love you Wendy and I am blessed to be here today and say, i am better, stronger, independent and full of love and compassion and this show just reminded me why… thank you!! and i love you!! and I am always praying for you. oh by the way….”How you doin?”…. Lots of Love.

  6. Love you Wendy …..Keep us informed whith a smile and sometimes a laugh.

I know it was very hard for you to speak . we could see it was real ! Love you !

keep doing what you are doing… I only say any one under 18 is off limits for negative statements and when thing are in the news or in the mags speak on them
if you chose , but just say what you will be whatching not what you will not be watching like the basketball wives etc. you do not have to apologize to any one
instead just don’t mention what you don’t like. one reason is because you have said on the show that is why the ratings are so high, take the high road , from an old school person you will go further and rating will remain up. It is ok give your opinion but not tooooo far to the left , if you know what I mean.

    love you, BJW from Fl

  9. Hi Wendy! You are as refreshing as a breath of fresh air. I was introduced to your program about a year and a half ago. Not only do I watch your show in the afternoon when it airs in Miami, but I also catch you on BET @ midnight. You don’t just say it like you mean it, but you say it with candor and a heart. Your tribute to Whitney was the most poingnant and caring. Stay true to your calling.

Two last things; I love the “Ask Wendy” segment (we usually think alike), and I love your mom and dad. Ms. Shirley reminds me of Ella Fitzgerald in her later years.

    Keep on doin’!!

    Love,
    Jaye
