Dancing with the Stars (has) been falling from grace for some time now. It needs to be revamped or sent to television heaven. As of late, after viewing DWTS I hear only sour notes in my head, and wished I was related to one of the judges so I could smack them and get away with it.
If I were the captain of this floundering ship of fools I would shake things up and put the power mad judges in the cat bird seat and see how they liked it. To accomplish this I would hire three new professionals for a season, and let the viewers vote as to which team they would like to have back, or I would have two sets of judges working together. The new trio would be in a booth and not permitted to interact with the dancers or our three old times. There would be no critiquing, fawning or wild displays of joy or disappointment. When the dance is over they would hold up their scores like they do in figure skating. Yeah, try to get a wink or a nod out of that crew!!
So you have two score boards…who cares? So it might take a little more time, fine… dump some of the other nonsense.
I also agree with others that the viewer’s votes should only count for a quarter or a third of the tally. Most of us are not pros and generally vote with our hearts not our heads/ability. The weight the outside world carries turns this into a popularity contest and all of the hard work some of the dancers did just falls to the wayside.
As for Katherine, she is a lovely girl who has come far, but she did not deserve the triple (9’s) she received for the dance where she fell, slipped or what ever that was. Nor should her tears have elected so much cooing from the three loony-tunes. She lost it period. If the dancer had been someone they didn’t respect or enjoy like Shannen Doherty, they would have ripped her to shreds even if she had managed to get that far and prove herself. As for the dance itself, please note that it was very similar to one that Maria did and they were none too pleased. What they didn’t like her laugh? Well Carrie-Anne could put a paper bag over her head and the second she opened her mouth and started flaying her arms I would know who it was. Peace….Susan

I am convinced that the Judges need to be replaced. Cari Ann Inaba is especially “knit picky” – her often commented “I saw a lift” is annoying, especially when Len and Bruno do not see it ! Len has been going overboard with his “low” scoring (7 or
on a dance that is obviously worth a ten with Cari Ann and Bruno. Then, we have Brooke Burke,…this gal is very pretty and that’s about it. She can’t speak properly, struggles for word’s, and is totally “not needed” on the show. A real Bimbo !! So, in my opinion, I would say,…
1. Replace the Judges
2. Get rid of Brooke Burke
3. Stop the phony “length of time” to announce who get’s bumped. (you know, the “dum de dum, dum de dum” and then “you are safe or you are in Jeopardy” crap.
4. Maybe go to “honest” Judge’s only, and “no” public “popularity” voting.

It is quite evident that DWTS judging is based upon favoritism,..not ability. Carrie Ann Inaba is a good example of this. Giving Derek Hough and his partner low score’s was ridicules,….Derek is so good that (in my opinion) never deserves less than a “9″. He has yet to receive a “10″. This Carrie Ann is a terrible knit picker !

Yes!!! Please. Replace these judges The Pro Dancers are replaced regularly but this motley crew of Judges is still there. Get some who know about dancing TODAY. not dancing in the dark ages.
I’ve been hoping this would happen for 3 yrs now.

What DWTS really needs is a revamp:
1. Judges should have 75% weight. Let’s face it, this whole thing is a popularity contest. And if the majority of viewers are female 18-30, they’re more into the so-called hot properties and don’t know anything about older or out-of-the-mode entertainers except those in the chicky rock group.
2. Eliminate the stupid “Rock Week” where idiotic music is used for dancers to do Argentine tangos etc and other dances that are absurd for the music. It isn’t fair to put unprofessionals through this and then judge them because they do poorly. The pros didn’t compete in their various specialities with this sort of music, why should contestants?
3. Get rid of Brooke What’s-Her-Name! She has the personality of a rock! This dame is the perfect definition of a bimbo. If it’s not on cue cards, she can’t talk. She’s a loser.
All-in-all DWTS has run its course and should be canned. They’re scraping the barrel for “Stars.” Ratings aren’t holding up. A nice bit of corny entertainment, but not so much anymore.

Replace a couple of the judges. There;s time for a facelift. Let’s bring in some different kind of dances that are more updated for the younger generation. Some excitement and sexy, sexy. And let’s revise that dance pool ! Something gotta give, nothing stays the same forever. Sorry Judges but it is time to move on and we appreciation back then but now it is time to bow out gracefully.

I don’t thnk the judges need to be replaced. However, I feel like the talent pool has gotten a little dry year after year. Since the show airs two seasons every year, why not do the spring season in New York, leaving the fall season in Los Angeles? There’s a lot of talent that would be great on DWTS but many have personal and professional commitments that keep them anchored on the east coast. It would definitely change things up for the better.

Definetely replace them! I’ve watched every season & have been a loyal fan. What happened with Max needed to happened. He was telling it like it is They have favorites from the beginning & do judge people differently, Also, they were annoyed said ,’it was his show.’ The pros choreogragh the dances, teach how to dance & design costumes. I’d say they DO create the show. They have their reputation on the line & give it their all. Don’t leave the show Max! At least one new judge is needed. They make the same comments & seem bored. Just like American Idol…change is needed! I had stopped watching Idol until they made changes. Can’t wait for new season!!

Yes I think they need new judges. I feel that they need other stars to judge the dancer like Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, smokey Robinsons, and even (Stevie Wonder) can do a better job then the ones that they have. This just my opion.

WHAT? If you want to write something why can’t it be legible? Who knows what you’re talking about & who cares? The Wendy Williams people should not let comments like that show on her comments! It’s really really awful!
Re/Dec.1. How right you are! Wendy has to know she wasn’t good! Some people can’t dance ( I used to ) but too old now! When I did dance I knew when I was having an “off” night so why can’t these people on DWTS tell how bad they are?

That’s something to consider. My Sister and talk about DWTS all the times, and we stop watching it because they always boot the blacks off. There a few that feel the same way.

Wendy, I am passionate about DWTS. I disagree about replacing the judges. They do need to be reeled in. Stick to the rules, both sides of the contest. And a pet pieve, don’t discount the score because the pro put in a step that wasn’t allowed. Don’t factor it into the equation, like inadmissable evidence in a court of law, where the jury is instructed to forget about what they heard or saw. That works. hah!
Suggestion: Maybe they should use the pro’s for instructing and pair two stars together. The pro’s can stand aside, instructing and do their showcase dances. That would really start some cat fights among the stars. lol
“Anyone who can walk can dance,” is the creedo of the dance business, (given the right instruction and time). Like learning to walk, it takes repetition. You didn’t have adequate preparation prior to learning the fluff. The instructors should know their students’ capabilities and needs and accommodate them. Sorry, Wendy… You look wonderful and sophisticated on your show. However, on DWTS your dresses and hair/wigs, even make-up were too much and unflattering for your dances. The combination made you look awkward and heavy. Why didn’t someone take a picture? You needed more subtle, sophisticated costuming. And why, oh why do the fat-legged women, (Nancy, etc.) wear short skirts? They look like Candy’s mom (Housewives of Atlanta) in the bustier! All the viewer sees is fat, unsightly thighs. These poor, misguided women look so proud out there, but seem to forget the camera adds 10 to 15 pounds back onto whatever the star has lost. It “aint purdy” honey!
Judges: People who know the specific rules and regulations for Ballroom/Latin style dancing, primarily Lenny, are necessary. Lenny honestly gives the most accurate comments and judging as far as that goes. The other two are more emotional to add balance and color. DWTS is Ballroom Dancing and for good reason. Can you imagine older stars attempting the stunts on So You Think You Can Dance? I’ve worked at several studios where the dancing was emotionally theraputic and great exercise enjoyed by all ages, ours being middle school to 83. Though having Senior Moments at times, she could kick her leg higher than most of us younger people.
Maxim should be ashamed of his unprofessional attitude as well as his partner. (Would Max prefer to not wear pants at all? I’ve worked with guys like him. Honestly, he’s disgusting at times, wagging his tail, once adjusting his man-parts on the steps, before fully going on stage.) She should have gotten the boot long before. They kept her on for whatever reasons. She was terrible, awkward, heavy, didn’t keep her form, didn’t know her steps, and so masculine, they should have paired her with the guy from Queer Eye. Saying “they had it out for her from day one,” she’s nuts. Her backside was saved far too long, probably for Max’s reputation and ego. It certainly wasn’t any talent or grace she showed on the dance floor.
Recommendation: Quit making it a competition among the pro’s!!!! Don’t give the pro’s a mirror ball. It’s Dancing With the Stars, folks. Each season needs to start new as are the stars. The pro’s push too much as far as tricks each season. People could relate in the beginning, seeing it as something they could do. Now, not so much. Tone down the choreography and don’t push the envelope for ratings. Start with the basics and build from there. Most of the dances share many common steps, just the tempo and timing changes. So if a person grasps the basics, they can incorporate the more intircate steps and moves later on, add lifts when allowed in freestyle.

Wendy is still mad because she got booted off on the 2nd night which she should have. that’s why she can’t let it go.
