My daughter and I are survivors of domestic violence, (she is now 8 years old). In December of 2006 I walked out with nothing but the clothes on our backs. As we try to rebuild our lives it hasn’t been easy. My “husband” strangled me until I blacked out in front of our daughter and still he only got anger management classes. I have moved on from the this but as christmas time comes we have very little money for gifts or extras as I recieve disability and my ex pays no child support. We share a rented home with my elderly Father so we can all have a decent place to live but I have to pay all the utilities, which leaves me overdrawn every month. My daughter still believes in Santa and I don’t know how to tell her this year there may not be any gifts under the tree…I am sure there are other families who are in more desparate situations, and I know you will pick the most deserving. How you doinggg. Wendy, this year has been very bad for my family and I. Both my parents was diagnoised with Cancer in March 2011. My mother has breast cancer and my father has muiltible myolomia. I have 2 brothers that live here in Florida. But me being the only daughter here in Florida, i have alot of responsiblites taking care of my parents. Making sure my father eat and take his medications and meet all doctor appointments. My mother is also still undergoing Radiation treatment and working on her job. my Dad has alot to take care of. I love being here for them, doing whatever I can to keep them strong and live. God gives me strengh everyday. By having Lupus, my days are good and bad. But since everything has been going on with my parents. God give me strength and direction. So by saying all this, I think my mother, father if thier something he can use for hisself and I, really deserve something good. To try and cover some of the bad. Thanks WENDY

This would really help my family. My job recently shut down without too much notice, 2 wks. My kids-10/boy, 4yo girl, are growing out of their clothes and shoes very fast. As you know having a 10 year old son they are just getting into themself and girls and always wanna look their best. I cry myself to sleep wondering how I’m going to support my children. I ve been on about 10 job interviews and since my credit isn’t perfect and jobs now do credit checks- which I think is sick, if you have bad credit you need a job more than anyone!-ive lost 3 very well paying opportunities.
