I have heard numerous renditions of “And I Am Telling You”, and that is Jennifer Holliday’s song stamped and sealed. Nobody can sing it like that woman. I have never heard someone sing from their “gut” like that woman. She has not gotten the due recognition she greatly deserves! She is truly in a class all by herself! There is a sixteen-year old girl on American Idol that just did an awesome rendition that I would place right up under Jennifer Holliday, she is a bad little girl!

I really enjoyed Ms. Holiday’s performance. Only she and Jennifer Hudson will ever sing that song and do it real justice [though who knows what the future will produce]. It was not possible for me to be in your audience but I really would and would appreciate a copy of Ms Holidays CD [The Bible says you have not because you ask not.] This may not be possible but I just had to ask. She is truly one the greatest singer of all times and she deserves all of the recognition for her beautiful voice. I enjoyed watching this video over and over again. I hope you have her on your show again in the near future. Jennifer Holliday is so gracious and she has blessed my soul. This song was one of the songs that I played at my wedding 29 years old. It still touches me like it did back them. I’m so thankful that I had the chance to see her sing it again. Thank You!

Thank you Wendy for posting this song and for inviting Miss Jennifer Holliday on. I was staying up to watch it last night on BET but alas, I was too tired and dozed off and missed it. She is an Unsung Hero and an Original Diva and deserves to be recognized as such. She is the Original Dream Girl.

The National Anthem ….. “I ani’t going nowhere, and you better know it” One of the most sung songs on Idol’s auditions, and others. You know you can sing when it’s 10 o’clock in the AM.
Ms. Jennifer Holiday…………………Dream Girl

That was the most demonic performance I have ever saw in my life! Jennifer Holliday’s contorted facial expressions scared the Hell out of me. Nevertheless, its not that surprising since she publicly announced she had prayed to Mahalia Jackson and channeled her spirit-wth. Wendy you should ask her back on the show and ask her to expound on channeling forces.

Jennifer Holliday’s performance brought tears to my eyes. I was clapping for her in my living room. Her voice is unbelievable!!!! She is an original!
I would love to hear Stephanie Mills sing “Home” from the original Wiz. that would be great! Can you find her and bring her on?????

She has always sung like that. Her phrasing and her diction is unique and soulful indeed. If I’m not mistaken, she replaced Aretha Franklin in that Sing Mahalia Sing production back in the ’80s. Holliday, like many of them, struggled with her weight back then. But now she seems to have it under control. She’s been slimmed-down for years now.
GREAT PERFORMANCE… just wish she could’ve sung the entire song. She also bites the dookie out of “His Eye Is On The Sparrow”–and her mother can sing too!!

Now… THAT’S the “Real Deal” fa ya!!!! Millions of vocalists all over the world has imitated this performance that Miss Jennifer Holliday did, which should be rather flattering to her. THIS was J-Hud’s original source, for without it “she” would’ve never happened. I admit, J-Hud did a great imitation… but THIS is the “Real Deal” right here. I got so excited hearing and watching her. She, herself, Miss Jennifer Holliday is like an “imitation” of… thunder and lightening with her amazing interpretation of lyrics on this song. She really looks and sound great.
Sincerest thanks to the Wendy Williams Show!!!!
