  1. Omg.. i love your show!!!!!!!! I stay up til 3 am just to watch. Cant wait for some new episodes.

  2. As I was reading the first few comments about who should play Aretha, I thought about Fantasia too. Then I saw a few more comments down someone else thought Fantasia should do Aretha, which she is an idol of Aretha. Great choice! Fantasia can sing with a lot of soul and would be the perfect candidate to do Aretha. I love you Aretha and I’m glad to hear you’re doing well. Oh by the way… Wendy “how you doin?” Loretta

  3. ” How You Doin ” Wendy ;-) ? !!

  5. hello wendy how you doin?! I happy that Mrs. Aretha Franklin recovery is going
well and she one of my favorite singer and people should not blamed
you for the phone call with aretha franklin being cut off because it not your fault
you not one control of phone in the studio. It was time for a commercial break you
only have a certain amount of time to talk with the guests on your show.People
forgot your show is only a hour and you have only segments of you have to do.
Thanks and god bless you wendy williams and you family.

  6. Hi Wendy: Yes i was excited and stayed up late to see the Queen of Soul phone call on your show. I think you did good up until the point that you cut her off in the end. I felt it was very disrespectful….maybe you did not intend on it happening….but maybe in the future when you are granted the opportunity to interview a great like Aretha you should tell them in advanced how long your phone call will last….or you could have told her how many more seconds you had left audibly on the phone call before you had to break for commercial. Its about the RESPECT you want…..she humbled herself just to allow you the priviledge of interviewing her in the 1st place – your show should receive a bill from her since she boosted your viewers….this was the only reason i tuned in to your show. No i am not a pr person for Aretha….i am a business owner in NY myself. You have alot of young kids who view your show…..you need to always show them how to respect their elders and a National Treasure like Aretha. Peace!

  7. Hello Wendy! Love your Show, especially HOT Topics!!! Great Job! Your show is the only show that I watch, besides Oprah. I wish you a long TV life. I just wanted to say that I was shocked that after listening to Aretha Franklin on your show when she phoned in; she said that she was considering Halle Berry to play her? I really don’t agree with her choice! Maybe she will re-think her decision. If anybody, I would think it would be Janet Jackson. I know Janet would do the role Justice!!! Much Love and Congrats! and continued success on your show! Sincere Loretta

  8. Wendy,
That was such a nice segment! It was good to hear that Aretha is doing good and she’s recovering well. She’s another favorite of mine person of mine and I will be watching to see her on your show! Good Entertainment!

I love watching the show and experiencing Wendy Williams! How You Doin’

  9. I was very happy to hear Aretha sounding so strong however she didn’t reveal much and baby there is a book Aretha should be writing before she leaves this earth. There is as much scandal as there is talent in her history. From her upbring, father and children. And let’s not forget the marriages, finances and eating. Now what I would have asked was Aretha are and when will you write your life story?

  10. I always have enjoyed your show, but I was disappointed when a friend of mine told me the comments that were made about “Ted Williams” the homeless man.

That once the money rolls in Ted, we will see what you do.
I will give it a year.

That was very hurtful because many of us, yourself included have fallen,

And every single time, we wanted someone to believe in us. And for many of us
    that hope turned us around.

You have a national voice of influence and I know that TV and sensationalism has it’s place, but where is the heart for human decency and hope rather than malicious projections. It is just as easy to wish good for someone than downfall, we always have a choice.

  11. I love Aretha, she is the best I agree, but there is no way in the world that Halle Berry should be portraying her. I think Jennifer Hudson would be a much better choice. I can really see her playing Ms. Franklin in her biopic and doing it much justice. Just my opinion!

Oh yeah Wendy “How you doin!!” I love you lady!!!

  12. I agree with the blogger above. Jennifer Hudson would be a better choice to portray
    Aretha. Another Detroiter here.

  13. Mrs. Wendy, I love her you but it was kinda rude of you cutting of the queen of soul (maybe form our end you cut her off not from your studio maybe?????). I love that you had the chance to speak to her and I love that she is so REAL! I would love to see Fantasia play the role because she is her idol and she would do her justice. Wendy keep doing what you do and making things happen! How you doing?

  14. Hello Wendy,

On the Kate Hudson and Aretha subjects:

I heard that the audience thought that Muse (Kate’s boyfriend’s band), was for teenagers. So, not true!

(And I think, based on this news – Kate did well with her choice of men).

I would clue you into listening to Muse. There is a hit song that’s titled (I’m not sure here, so I’m just paraphrasing a repeated line): ‘I want to recognize the beauties in your heart.’ It is a beautiful song.

I admit to being ‘one or two years older than you are’, yet I think it is a good idea to spend fifteen minutes two or three times a week listening to what’s more current. In fact, the station I listen to here in New England plays many songs of the nineties. Over by you it is, or was, WNEW f.m., I’m not sure of whether they are still going. Here, I listen to wfnx.com for newer music, which includes Muse. Many of the DJ’s have excellent blogs connected to music clips – very informative in a flash.

I think you would also like acoustic Foo Fighters, as in their Skin and Bones DVD. Many songs (on this particular station are melodic, sort of a mix of melody, industrial, emo and rock, probably akin to Lenny Kravitz). Also, Pearl Jam, Backspacer is fairly mellow, and the lyrics are wonderful.

As far as a future chat with the lovely Aretha….if I were you I would certainly get my going on with the newer get up and game…unless you already are. A good book to read is Bob Dylan’s Chronicles, Vol. I, if you haven’t already. That book sort of begins to tune you in to what was happening with Aerosmith and hip-hop.

I do agree with the person above regarding Jennifer Hudson playing Aretha. It would seen to be a better fit.

Well, thank you for your glamour and girl talk, its a plus on a winter’s day.

    Best Wishes.

  15. I SO LOVED THIS! Wendy, your Hair looks Great! Im also Glad, Wendy Steered the Convo, the way Ms. Franklin, Took it! PS, Love Aretha, But Hunny, She said, she wants a Piece of R.KELLY, did she not get the Memo… R. KELLY SEX = YOUNG GIRLS & BOYS….Love you Aretha!

  16. I think Aretha will be fine. I love how you asked questions and she would come back with class and answer the questions with such sophistication. Also I love how she said “I have men!!!” OK! Love it! When I am older I will be classy too! Since I do mentoring (MamaKris Mentoring) I suggest that you call her later Wendy and talk to her about getting cut off and show her how much you appreciate her setting the record straight and for even calling in!

    All the Love!

  17. Hi Wendy,
So glad you’re back with new shows. When Aretha comes to visit, put a bug in her hear to choose Jennifer Hudson to portray her life. Halle Berry is not a wise choice. There is no resemblance and Halle does not sing. I love Aretha, but let’s be real. Halle did a great job with the Dorothy Dandridge story. I truly believe Jennifer would do her justice.

    :) Detroit’s in the house

  18. Ms. Wendy,

How you doin?! In all do respect, The Ms. Aretha segment seemed “rushed” :( I felt bad for her, because you cut her off while she was still talking to you and it suddenly went to commercial :( If at all possible let the Diva finish her sentence before cutting to commercial :)

Thanks and have a fabulous day!
