Reports surfaced recently that Natalie Portman had a dance double, who reportedly did most of the dancing for her Oscar winning performance in “Black Swan.”
Now, some critics are saying the Oscar should be taken away from Natalie.

WOO!! WHAT DID U DO, WENDY? A lot of people are upset today! Frankly, I think you’re an amazin’ human being but not a first place dancer. It just appears like you’re apprehensive about really letting yourself go. I did vote for you even though I had a premenistion that you weren’t gonna make it. Omg. I wonder if you have a complex. Woman of a particular age…..making reference to dwts constantly. You really sound angry and your not doing a good job covering it up. wendy danced very good on on monday, i cant believe they eliminated her that week. I think it was one of her best week. They are bugged out for eliminating her and ridiculous for giving her that terrible score..

Absolutely!!! The only reason she won the Oscar is because of “her” dancing which required great acting, discipline, and talent. If she didn’t do it then there are other nominees who acted amazingly. I actually saw it twice and the second time around I remember thinking that Natalie’s role didn’t have much acting involved as far as lines go. It was mostly dancing or screaming/ reacting to something crazy.

QF! Que Funny!!! I agree with Wendy on both sides. I mean she did get the award for acting, not for dancing. If she got an award for dancing, then I would be like okay yeah you need to dance more than just that. But you know stunt doubles aren’t there to win awards, they are there to help actors with a name out and possible get a name out for themselves.

No it shouldnt be taken away. They are many actor who won for action movies and they have stunt doubles. So why should they take away her award? She did a fantastic job. Even if she had a double for dancing she did not have a double for acting.

An Academy Award is awarded to it’s winners for acting …for the person who can make a character the most real …whether Natalie danced or not ,it did not take away from her performance on that character. It’s about the performance the connection to the audience to the emotion and darkness of the character . She did her job and she did her job 100%. The Oscar is given by : The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for recognition in film….not DANCE!

Yeah if a dance double did most of the dancing and that’s what the movie is about then the dancer deserves the award not Natalie. Damn I’m so disapointed by that. Natalie is a very good actress.
