Hey Wendy, i was just watching the ep. with Dolly, and in the beginning you asked for a show of hands that thought was Inappropriate for those LITTLE girls to be dancing the way they were. In my opinion that was Inappropriate in which ever environment setting they are placed in because what they do in front of u is the same thing they will do (or worse) when the parent is not around. im 20 years old and my father would kill me if i did that dancing at 8-9 years old. i agree with u every bit of the way that if the parent is gonna allow that dancing from a little girl, they should also teach their little girl what comes along with that…

Don’t blame you Wendy for getting a little misty at meeting Dolly! She is such an amazingly talented woman and huge star, but such a wonderful down to earth person, as are you. You are both such sweet and sincere people with common sense, which is refreshing. Thanks for bringing your viewers this touching interview, just like having a cup of tea with the both of you, it brought a smile to my face. LOVE your show.

Hey Wendy!!! How U Doin’?
You’ve come a long way baby!!! (Do you remember that ad for ‘Virginia Slims’?) I have been with you since your radio days. Although you continue you to share celebrity gossip, I have witnessed a maturity in your reporting of it. Kudos to you! You remind me of Rhona Barrett (yes I am old enough to recall her, even though I was a young girl when she was on T.V.). I appreciate that you include guess from all media, from the ‘A’ list to the ‘D’ list, thus exposing your audience to legends and newer celebs, as well as crossing the racial, age, gender, and social lines. I believe that ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ has the most diverse audience that I have seen on a television talk show, EVER! They better give you a Daytime Emmy nomination! And you Wendy are funny and investigative and REAL! I love how humbled you are when meeting the greats. You are truly living the career dream that you always talked about on the radio! How surreal is that?
I think that you are on point with your views on parenting. You are a very hip mom, but old school – the perfect combination! You are always calling out those moms that allow their daughters to dress far too sexy for their age and give great advice on disciplining children. Motherhood and marriage suit you well!
I just wanted to comment on today’s show – May 18th — that featured Mrs. Posada, The Oakridge Boys, Lionel Richie, Common & that dude from “American Idol” (I don’t follow that show anymore, so the competitors’ names stay on my mind for as about as long as it takes gas to pass through the colon-LOL). I was surprised that your normally on point staff failed to inform you that there was a T.V. celebrity from the TNT show “Leverage” seated in your audience (unless I missed you shouting out his fine chocolate self ). Yes, you didn’t acknowledge Aldis Hodge who plays Alec Hardison, computer whiz and thief on “Leverage”. When you returned from one commercial break, you were standing right beside him, and I assumed that you were about to let the audience know who he was. Sadly you didn’t. But it’s okay, I’ll keep watching anyway – LOL. You inspire me and encourage me not to give up the hope that a ‘woman of a certain age’ can still have it going on and dreams never die. Thank you and I love ya much Mrs. Wendy Jo Williams-Hunter (LMBO)!!!
Peace & Luv, Sista & Friend in My Head
P.S.
As soon as I am able to get myself camera ready, me and my mommy will be coming down to be part of your studio audience

you shouldv’e ask Laura Posada what she think od the show “basketball wives”?

In response to the comment about the young girls dancing:
I personally think that what makes this video so offensive is the fact that these girls are dancing scantily clad. Do I think that their dance steps are offensive? Not entirely. Some of the moves were not necessary, but I do not think that it’s fair to say that these girls were dancing “too hard,” considering that this was at a competition. At any competition, one is told to give their absolute most and that’s what I think that they did. I just think that they should have worn more and toned certain dance moves down, NOT the level of energy. Over all these girls are dancers. And we shouldn’t make them feel like they did something wrong by competing to see who was best at their art-form. I don’t believe that these little girls dance like this ALL THE TIME, WHENEVER, WHERE EVER. I think that they devised this routine, drawing from what they know sells and gains audiences attention. And lets face it: look at the media’s idea of “dance” and “talent.” Between Beyonce’s single ladies dance moves, Rihanna’s barely there outfits and Gaga’s over the top “art,” our children are growing up in a generation where it’s being told it’s okay to do such things. It’s okay to “pop your booty out” and “shake it.” Ciara’s new video has her in a midriff top and black pants doing the EXACT SAME THING if MORE than these little girls. And no ones said that this video is offensive, in appropriate. No one’s made note of Christina Aguilera’s over the top video with rhinestone gags, corsets, and pant/bra dance numbers…but we wonder why these little girls were dancing in a ‘ris-que’ manner.
No way, shape or form am I condoning the outfits of these little girls and some of the suggestive dancing that they did, but look at where they pull inspiration from. And unfortunately, being more-than-half naked is now the norm. I would blame the parents and the institution for allowing such clothes and some moves allowed. But I don’t think it’s fair to look at these girls as though THEY did something wrong…they’re doing what they see on rotation on TV.
Unfortunately, nothing is sacred anymore, even the preservation of childrens’ innocence.

Wendles,
You have such a wonderful heart. After your interview with Dolly Parton It was so nice to see you just so consumed with emotion and yet so grateful for the opportunity to meet other well respected stars. It is a blessing. Continue to count your blessings and never lose that sentimental side of you. You have a beautiful spirit. Keep ugly far away from you.
Luv u long time,
Larry G

The children don’t know how suggestive their routines are, which is all well and good. I, as a mother and professional dancer, would have demanded not as revealing clothes. The boots were inappropriate as well as the two pieces. Just more appropriate clothing would have made it less offensive.

Luv your show. It is my mid-day de-stress break. Did you and Teresa Guidice plan to wear the same belt today or did it just happen that way?

Wendy & Mrs Williams,
Was real nice to see Doly Parton she is ageless. Years ago I had a C.D. with a rare 60s song that Dolly made that had a great sound I wish I didn`t give it away.
Before you send all your hair away maybe your stylists can prep a few up and send
to that lady with the medical cond.
Mrs Williams saw Diana Ross on Entertainment Tonight she is planning a world concert tour maybe if you spoke to her or her staff she would be a guest on Wendy
How could she or any other star refuse a request from a nice lady like yourself.

Hello Wendy,
While I do agree with the exploitation of children is wrong and also with the pediphile comments that you made. Still your host guest from the basketball cheer dance chick forgive my memory for not knowing her name , I have to say you go girl for standing alone gracfully even when you was under attack from the rest of the studio audience.
Thank You
Denice from Phoenix Az.

You are truly a good person to donate your beloved wigs to such a good cause. I live on the west coast of Florida, and I can tell you we are all concerned. I”d also like to let you know that I totally agree with you about the poor example of parenting on the part of each and every one of the parents of those little girl dancers. One last thing, you, had me rolling with laughter with your Bill Clinton impression. Thank you for such a great show.

P.S. I hope you’ll do a show about women and afordable wigs very soon. I have a medical condition and my hair is thinning faster than I can type about it. Thanks for making the whole hair thing fun. And for being fabulous!

I loved the show today and your hair was great! However, I have to comment on the discussion about the young girls at the dance competition. I completely agree with you on this subject – it is wrong no matter how you look at it. Kids that age will have plenty of time to dress like that when they’re legal adults. Parents need to quit trying to make their children (especially little girls because it seems to be worse with girls) into adults before they’ve even been through puberty. I know you said the parents defended the girls, which I had also read online, but I can’t help but wonder if it was the mothers or fathers doing the defending. I seriously doubt that dads want to see their little girls imitating sex moves on a stage – no matter what age they are (unless the dad needs to be locked up).
All that said, my biggest concern and problem was with the comment your guest, Royce, made about this topic. She basically said that she felt it was okay because it was in a competition setting. Being the mother of a child that has been in competitive cheer for 7 years I was very offended by that comment. The reputable and respectable companies that conduct competitive cheer and dance events (usually at the same time) would never stand for that type of attire or routine at their competition. Not only do they have rules prohibiting clothing and dance moves that are age inappropriate, they will deduct for it as well and most likely would have disqualified a team for that type of performance. This company allowing this to video to become so viral and not make any comment about how this isn’t representative of the type of competition they run is disturbing. As a parent I wouldn’t let my daughter within 10 miles of this company’s competitions – the majority of their spectators from here on out will be pedifiles.
I don’t know a single parent involved in competitive cheer or dance that would tolerate their child dressing and/or dancing like that anyhere at any time. It is offensive to have a “dancer” on your show say that this routine and attire is okay because this was done at a competition. It makes it seem as if she’s speaking for the dance world when she isn’t. Like you said yourself, it’s wrong all day long and will attract nothing but pedifiles.
Lastly, I wish the point would be made that this is not representative of the competitive cheer and dance world, but instead only represents one sad, pathetic little company trying to make a name for themselves off of the sexualization of 5 little girls. The reputable companies would have thrown this group of kids out of their competition.
