  2. How u Doin’ Wendy,
It is not right to punish Lil Kev for hiding his papers. The fact that he has poor papers, means that the teacher did not recognize that he was having difficulty.Little Kev does not feel comfortable asking for help. When I taught, every child helped the next one, just not during tests.Homework papers were called “learning papers” and we corrected them together everyday. The children were’ nt afraid to make a mistake. Parents were requested to help at all times.
A child fails because the teacher fails to put forth the necessary effort to keep that child from failing..
    A few suggestions
*Tell Lil kev he his a smart kid and mean it:Hugs help
    *Organize his backpack
*Check his homework pad daily and sign it
*Have a folder for each subject
    *Review spelling words nightly
*Read aloud nightly to Lil Kev
    *Get a tutor now
*Hire several college students to be available to act as mentors to Lil Kev on the week-ends that you are not available.Make plans for educational trips, Museum of Art, Natural History, Planetarium,Statue of Liberty,King Tut Exhibit, Broadway Shows, Visits to college campuses, Historical Sites in New Jersey.( get the book “On the Go in New Jersey”, and try to visit every site)
Picking weeds is fifties punishment,In the twenty-first century you use conflict resolution methods, The” I” message.I feel sad when you hide your papers. I need you to feel secure enough in my love to talk to me.”

We have mutual friends, the Carnegie Family and the Robinson Family from Ocean ,NJ.

  9. Regarding show 4/22/10 (Norwood Family)

Hello Wendy, I wanted to comment on the advise you offered to the mother that got into a yelling match on the playground defending her 18 month old.

I think it’s inappropriate for parents to fight/yell or loose control in a playground. This teaches our children terrible conflict resolution. So anytime you get offended by someones actions it’s ok to break out yelling. Two year olds are impressionable and this display for either child to witness is not ok. I’m sure the children (at that point) had no ideal what the commotion was about.

Plus if I’m in the park with my 2 year old son (who’s very cute I might add) playing, I don’t want him seeing other adults fighting over slides and who hit whom. That would irritate the crap out of me.

  18. Hey Wendy, great opportunity for the women who are having issues wearing clothes but what about the “thin” women who try to eat and the bulge go to the stomach and not the booty? What do we do when we want to look thicker but always look thinner? Are there any tricks or are we just assed out? :-(
