Wendy’s All New

Miracle Worker

When it comes to operating on the human heart, Dr. Jacob DeLaRosa has a lot of experience, but nothing could have prepared him for his little canine patient.

Six-year-old Tristan Moulton was born with a degenerative disease called spinal muscular atrophy and wasn’t supposed to live past 4-years-old. He recently got a Yorkshire Terrier puppy named Max, who became his instant best friend.

Shortly after Max came home with Tristan, it was discovered that he had a congenital birth defect that required an extremely risky, medical procedure.

A local veterinarian called Dr. DeLaRosa for a consultation and the renowned heart surgeon agreed to lend a hand.

  7. Dear Wendy:
I always watch the show and what Dr.DeLaRosa did, those are the ones that should be called doctors with all their letters. Because they are there not there to work but help others, especially the one they love the most and that’s a puppy. Six-year-old Tristan Moulton, really touched my heart, when I was watching the show at 10PM on MY9. it is sad that his only friend is hos own love dog, because people don’t want to be his friend over the fact of his dignosis is. Am a physical challenge person that uses a wheelchair & a walker to walk. I was born premature with Celebral Palsy (cp) ,and I am a dog lover, even though am still in the proccess of looking for a dog myself. Even though, I live in New York, I would love to be Tristan Moulton’s friend. I am a person that likes to help people and most of all those who are physical challeng, because those are the ones some people leave behind like if they don’t excist in this planet. Deep in my heart, I would love to cheer him up along with his puppy,so I hope one of the producers of The Wendy Williams Show, could read my request and pass it to Wendy, the kid and his family. Hope to hear from your guys soon and keep up the good work.

  8. Wendy Wendy Wendy,

I like your show and watch you every night, however I feel lately your interview mannerism is horrible. I can totally tell that you pissed TI off with your comments and questions. It seem like he barely wanted to talk to you after all the negative that you started out with. I can tell he was thinking “this bitch”! You also had Travis Stork on your show this week and he was truly pissed with your comment about is hands all sweaty and cold. The look on his face said it all. After your comment, he didn’t know what to do with his hands. His body language showed that he was very uncomfortable and your guest should not feel that way. I’m really surprised that you offended a white man. You seem to hold white people up. I was like wow! You say little things but you’ll back away when it come to a white person but african americans, you offend and keep it moving. Offending your guest doesn’t sit well with your guest or your audience.

Just thought that I would share my observation with you.

  9. Dear Wendy, I am going to stop watching your show. I don’t want Oprah. (I don’t watch her either) I want tacky, cheeky and silly. Really a story about a dog? I’m 26 and a teacher I have to be meek and conservative in my porfessional life. I don’t want to watch “old lady” TV Goodbye

  10. what a wonderful story that doctor is the best it is sad to see that the boy is sick but thanks to that wonderful doctor the little boy is so happy.

  11. Great show, as a mother of the Dr. I’m so proud and his brother and sisters are too

  12. Wendy, I loved this story so much – tears were running down my face. The kindness of that heart doctor and the emotion in the mother’s voice talking about the bond between human and pet. Thank you! I love you and how you doin!!!

  13. Wendy-
I don’t know… I can hardly stand stories like this- or rather- I am just ova them.
I mean no hatred hear- but between Holly Robinson( Celeb App), Sherri Shepher (View) and Sarah Palin- I am just kinda sick of hearing about “Parental Special Needs”.
My Question is this… would this have happened to a Non Special needs kid?
Seriously, Would this same Cardio. done this for a “no namer” of a Non Special needs family?
These Special Needs families seem to be always getting a freebie- and when they dont- they lobby, protest, or say that Non Special Needs families are ignorant and inconsiderate. Oh please.

  14. Hi Wendy, Thank you so much for sharing this story. My daughter also has spinal muscular atrophy, SMA, and it means so much to the SMA community that you told a heartwarming story and helped raise awareness of this cruel disease. Although not commonly known, SMA actually kills more infants and young children than ANY other inherited disease. And 1 in every 40 unknowingly carries the gene that causes SMA — most have NO family history. With help from people like you and with increased media attention, SMA can become a preventable disease. And with increased research funding, there is enormous promise that it will become treatable. Please consider doing another show focused on the #1 genetic killer of young children. Please help give the the thousands of children dying of SMA a voice. There are many families right in NYC whose lives have forever changed because of SMA. Visit http://fightforowen.com/ to read more about one incredible New York family impacted by SMA.

  16. Dear Wendy,
Thank you for tristan and Max’s story. It is heartwarming to know that Dr. DeLaRosa went above and beyond, what an amazing person and his assistants as well.
There is so much tragedy and pain in our lives, this story was a reprieve, thank you for bringing it to your audience.

PS: I loved the behind the scenes photo shoot, shot with the slacks and white blouse on the club chair looked beautiful.
You my friend are an inspiring woman.
    Love
Your New Best Fan and friend.
