Robin Quivers and Howard Stern made headlines for their comments about Gabourey Sidibe not having a career after “Precious” and the need for her to lose weight.

  1. Robin Quivers is a disgrace. I watched your show every day Wendy, but never again. I can’t believe you would give a forum to this woman and act like Howard Stern is a great guy. Did you ever hear his jokes bout the Diallo shooting??? I’m disgusted. Robin Quivers is a sell out Uncle Tom pig. I hate her!!

  2. I was very upset about Robins comments about Gabby’s weight. Gabby’s is a beautiful woman no matter if she is overweight or not. American is supposed to be full of diversity, and what does it matter if she is overweight. Gabby probably has an food addiction, and how many other people in Hollywood have addictions such as; drugs and sex. Just because one can look at Gabby and see hers, should not exclude her from getting work. That chick that played on One Day At a Time stayed high as a kite. I watched her bio! Since she was skinny it was acceptable to stay on set blown out her mind. Hollywood has to accept that Americans are getting larger by the minute. I hope God blesses Gabby with a long lasting acting carreer. We always tell our kids you can be whatever we want to be when we grow up. So now are we supposed to tell them that you cant go into Hollywood if your fat. What happened to accepting and loving yourself. Robin your a nasty lady. ..

  5. i’ll have to see this interview once again tonight when the show airs again on bet. interesting. but for now i can say this: the film precious came up in the dentist office recently and [i really dont mean this in a bad way, i love and support everyone i can, but] the peeps in the dentist office were all agreeing the film was too “depressing” for them to view. it was interesting to me because i generally keep those opinion to myself publicly, i never said a word. but now i will mention to you that deep in my heart i felt the same way. to this day i have not seen this movie because it just seemed so depressing that i didnt think i could withstand it. i was surprised to hear these people saying this same thing i was thinking in the dentist office. i may be years before i could see this movie, but i’m sure one day i will see it.

    furthermore, when i saw the awards shows my first thought was: what about Miss Sidibe’s next career move? and then the thought occurred to me also that some folk “act” [or sing or whatever they're doing] because they are CALLED to do it and then some do it simply because they COULD. who knows? Miss Sidibe may be one of the ones who did it because she “could” do it, it may have been just situational.

  6. I understand where Robin is coming from, however it depends on where Gabby’s head is at. If she believes wholeheardly that God will bless her in this career, then no man on this earth will be able to stop it. Roles will be coming out the wazoo for her. Prayer, faith in God and strong belief in self will open doors that you never thought would open. Something that NO MAN in Hollywood or anywhere else could prevent.

    I really thought the interview with Robin was good but I have to say that Ms. Quivers came off very fake and unreal. Her comment regarding Gabby was just ugly and prior to her weight loss she was like Star Jones and Monique that big is beautiful and all those skinny women needed to eat. I am just really sorry that she lacked or came across as not very humble at all.

Dear Ms Robin Q you know the comments about Gabby Sidibe were so mean and cruel, and I am so angry about how you people judged her back off her wieght she will loose it when she”s ready, and about you Ms.Robin Q you are not perfect either but no one is pointing out your faults and looking down at you. Gabby”s working and no there may not be alot of parts for her in hollywood but i bet you she will always have a job somewhere because she is beautiful and very Intelligent and she has a great sense of humor and that says alot.

  9. She really didn’t answer the question and address what was said by herself and HS. She knows that she messed up. A lot of African American women felt betrayed by Robin to sit and listen to those hateful comments made by HS and then agree with them. She was wrong then and she is wrong now! No love for Robin!

  15. Mi understand Robin Quivers concern in general regarding Gabrbies health because in actuality it isn’t healthy to have a lot of accessive weight. However, only JAH can determine Gabbie’s destiny and although “Hollywood” has superficial and narrow-minded standards. Who’s to say JAH no using Gabbie to finally break the derogative stereotypical vain stigma Hollywood has labeling people with weight issues as “insignificate”, “not good enough for Hollywood”, or etc.”? Maybe the weight issue Robin Quivers had somwat crippled her “self-esteem” and had a negative affect on her, but we no have the right to try to impose that upon others by putting them down in comparison to us. Just because somting no work for mi no mean it won’t work for someone else.

  17. Robin’s comments were a little harsh and insensitive. I do not think that size should be the shallow importance in Hollywood, or anywhere else for that matter. Perhaps, instead of saying that basically Gabby may not get other roles at her size, Robin should have concentrated and acknowldeged her acting, or perhaps her asset in this movie. I am not disagreeing totally with everything Robin said though, I think we all should take care of our health, that I agree with. But to focus on her size, in my opinion, is not something people should say out loud. Perhaps she could have spoken to her in private and not on your show. Robin should take her under her wing and nicely help her and guide her instead of squashing her dream completely.

  18. I enjoyed the interview with Robin. We don’t get to see her only hear her…It is not her place to comment about Gabby’s weight, if she is so concerned about her health then give her a call sistah to sistah and voice her concerns. It’s not what you say it’s how you say it. It’s not what you do it’s how you do it!!!!
    I was waiting on the Jamie Foxx question and I must say if Wendy was still on the radio it would have gone a lot different. Miss Robin’s comment was very Shady!!!!
