Wendy,
I’ve been watching your show since I retired and enjoy it every day.
When Doris Roberts was on, I was offended. I felt you were very patronizing to her because of her age, as though she has diminished capacity. “Do you still drive?” “Where?” “Really?” Your voice got higher with each comment as though you were astonished she could drive. Just treat (and talk to) older people as though they are the same as you. Because we are – just got here before you did. I thought she ws very gracious saying how she felt by saying that it is OK to call her older, just don’t call her old. We are people, too, and still very much alive.
Then there was the “lady” that was griping because older people were shopping in Chicos like they are repulsive (she said that every body there was on walkers or oxygen tanks) – but the clothes are cute.
It is inaccurate to think that because one is younger means being smarter, more current and superior. And that we senior citizens should stay out of sight and stay home.
Doris Roberts is an active, smart and savvy woman; I admire her for her grace.

Wendy, first off I want to tell you how much I love your show. Your a beautiful person both inside and out. I was watching you do the interview with Doris Roberts and you were trying a new “leg cross”. Honey, it looked like you were in pain. I don’t want to sound mean, but it looked a little odd. You have such beautiful leg, but they looked all twisted up. Sorry about being so straight forward. I love you and everything you do.
Hugs and kisses,

Hey Wendy!!
Did Doris Dis you?? It sure sounded like it. I loved all the questions you were askin’ her—cuz you had never met her before/she’d never been on your show—and I rarely see her interviewed—but, the last question you asked her it sounded like she said: “Well let me talk about the show ’cause that’s why I came here—you kinow….”—or, something like that. I guess your questions kinda threw her off, or something—-but she should have trusted that you would let her discuss her show, knowing that’s why she was there. I really did not appreciate her saying that to you—-she didn’t say it in a mean way, really, but….
Anyway, apparantly I’m the only one who caught it/took offense to it—-on THIS thread, anyway……….
IF it bothered you, I’m here t’tell ya it bothered me too!!
OOandXXs,
Elaine

i was looking forward to this interview all weekend, Everybody Loves Raymond is one of my favorite tv shows along with The Celebrity Apprentice and The Wendy Williams Show. i wish you would’ve asked her about her relationships with the different cast members. i liked how she opened up her interview with the ‘how you doin’ slogan, such a charmer.

Wendy, the Jersey girl should GIVE THE RING BACK!!! It’s not the ex-fiance’s fault that she was gullible enough to pay all of the bills and let him rest, dress, and read the funnies. He should have be paying his portion all along (I say they shouldn’t have been living together but that’s another story) . She just has to eat that and chalk it up to experience. My advice to her is that the next man she finds should be able to buy the ring and pay the bills at the same time! Get over it!
