  1. Hey Wendy,
Don’t worry your pretty little head (which I know you are not) about what some of the fans were saying about your ensemble Tuesday because they are probably ugly as hell. I think the wig looked better when it was parted on the side, like on the G.Lo Show. And I noticed it looked better on Shakeetha with the side part too. When it is parted in the middle, you looked a little like that furry monster on Bugs Bunny. As far as the wrinkles in your dress, I didn’t notice; I think that’s being a bit nit-picky. The color looked great, as far as I’m concerned. Sunshine is always good. People love to criticize. I think you are fabulous! You always dare to be different.

  2. Hi Wendy, great show enjoyed seeing Valerie Harper and Katrina singing Walking on Sunshine. Thanks.

  5. i was told that valerie mentioned my name today in her interview —mimi kirk. i was the woman who designed her clothes and the scarf she wore. i wanted to see if i could see a video anywhere. thanks so much.

  6. You’re the first one to book Katrina and the Waves before anyone else. ( Some talk shows are hesitant to book some lesser known ’80s stars that are still performing to this day–they have this “I’d rather be in 2010″ mentality. That Walking on Sunshine still is a fun record! They still use it in some TV commercials. It came out in 1985, but it really caught on in the summer of 1986. It had a ’60s feel and vibe when I first heard it with the horns, but it was undeniably ’80s.
Then they had a song in summer 1989 that only peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard
Hot 100 and then I didn’t hear from them again. Maybe some subsequent albums that they recorded independently, but no major hit on a grand scale. But I like that they’re still performing and want to be known BEYOND that hit, get people to hear their other songs as well. I think this also demonstrates how fun the ’80s music was and that YouTube, the Internet,VH-1’s top 100 One Hit Wonders of the ’80s (which even UPDATES on what those artists are doing NOW) and bands reuniting for summer tours in the 2000s have saved it from oblivion. Wendy, thanks for finding them and that you still REMEMBER this fun classic!
