  1. I enjoyed watching the dog fashion show segment Wendy! It’s so fun to see how creative ideas can influence the dog world. All the pets seemed to enjoy the show. Dara was such a bubbly guest; she really made my day and gave me something positive and fun to watch!

As a pet lover and owner, I like to see people loving and enjoying their pets!

  6. This is in reply to the person who posted this:

“I truly feel as though my very good friend, Beverly Smith, and her business, Make A Tail Wag, need to be recognized, or should have been, for the Tutus that SHE hand makes and sells to retailers/wholesalers, such as Bark Slope. In fact, the Bark Slope Tutu on your show today was manufactured/hand made by Beverly.”

I’m the owner of Bark Slope and would indeed agree that Beverly with Make a Tail Wag deserves recognition for her wonderful products! Bev is also a close friend of mine and I can assure you there was no intention from Bark Slope or any of the other parties involved in this fun segment to not give credit where credit is due. We are actually quite thrilled to be able to do so, as Bev works so very hard to create a top quality product.

The title of the design is “Triple Elegance” and that was mistakenly used in print as the designer name instead of Make a Tail Wag. Bev with Make a Tail Wag does a fantastic job on all of her products and we’re very proud to offer them!

Thanks, Dara, Wendy, and team, for showcasing so many great items! While I realize dressing a dog is not everyone’s thing, those of us who do so appreciate this segment!

If you have any questions regarding this, feel free to email me at info@barkslope.com.

    Thanks!

  9. i have a little chihuahua that would look too cute in these outfits!

  10. Thanks for watching the show! The brown puppy in the pink wig is a 3 month old Toy Poodle. I appreciate all the comments positive and negative. -Dara Foster

  11. The person above is “entitled” to their opinion, no matter how wrong it may be. Dogs do not ‘hate’ wearing clothes (hate being a completely human emotion). Unless this person has become a dog psychic on top of being a supposed trainer he has no idea what dogs around the world do and do not enjoy.
Take for instance, my Chihuahua, she will not go outside in the rain without her coat, she loves cozying up in her sweater, adores the attention she gets in her dresses and appreciates the booties I put on her that protect her feet from gas/oil/anti-freeze/etc on the street, the hats she wears that protect her large eyes from the glare of the sun, and the doggles that also help shade them from the sun as well as protecting them from getting poked.
You do not see problems with dogs that are being treated like humans, you are seeing problems from dogs that are spoiled. Guess what, you spoil a human child and they will be little brats all day long as well. Treating a dog like a human is not the problem, clothing them is not the problem, it’s those that spoil them that make the rotten dog.

  12. what breed was the last dog shown??? I want one just like it. Sooo cute!

  13. Wendy I love your show. Your “Ask Wendy” segment is great. Keep being yourself and giving your opinions without pulling punches.

There is one bone I have to pick (sorry couldn’t resist the pun). The dogie fashion segment was just wrong. I volunteer at the local animal rescue shelter in NJ. I have to agree with the trainer’s comments. The biggest mistake anyone can make is to treat a dog like a human. They do not like to be put in costumes. I have worked with dogs long enough to understand their vocalizations and body language.

I could tell by the body language each of those dogs absolutely hated being dressed in those silly clothes.Dogs are pretty stoic when it comes to pain or discomfort but they do express themselves if you learn to be alert for what they are saying.

It would have been far better if instead, you had on a trainer to give tips about how to give your dog a massage. That is something that just about any dog loves to get. The corners of their mouth will slightly turn up. That’s how a dog smiles.

I much prefer to see smiling dogs.

  20. Loved this segment on the show today Wendy!

What I would love to see on the show and since you are a bargain shopper, is how folks can buy those fabulous looks for their dogs, for less. That is where Kenny’s Closet.com comes into play.

We take gently-used high-end luxury clothing items and accessories that are no longer used by a dog owner and re-sell them, for the owner/client. We are a consignment shop for dogs!

It was nice that your guest showed some great looks for dogs, but it is at the retail cost. In this economic climate, it would be nice to inform your audience, that they should look for alternate shopping outlets, to keep their dogs in style.
