You can’t have your pancakes and eat them too!

Wendy doesn’t believe that a guy ever just wants to be “friends” with a girl.

During “Ask Wendy” an audience member said she has a really good guy friend who always takes her out to eat and is hinting that he wants more than a friendship, but she’s just not that into him.

Even though she doesn’t want to take their relationship to the next level, she doesn’t want to lose her free meals either.

  2. I think that mature men and women can be just friends. Everything doesn’t have to be about sex all the time. Now I have had plenty of male friends and friends only they were. Now, you can build feelings for someone especially when you are very close, but there is a thin line between love and hate and that’s what comes along with that situation.

  4. As a straight male, happily married almost 25 years and a relationship expert, I know for a fact that it is possible to have platonic friends of the opposite sex. – That said, it is not advisable for married folks for various reasons.

  7. guys and girls CAN be just friends, but it has to be a mutual JUST FRIENDS. if you’re friends with someone of the opposite sex and the other person likes you, thats not a true friendship because one person takes your words and actions as more than what you are meaning for them to be. its not fair and things get complicated that way.

  9. I think that if a girl and a guy is friend thay can be more then friends if thay just wait and see were it going to take them.

  10. Ok, so let’s just keep it 100. This guy may be her friend, but I find it very shady that she is basically using him. And like Chris Rock said, “THAT AIN’T RIGHT.” It’s not right. I never hung out with my guys friends (back in the day before marriage and a child) and expected them to pay. I had my own money to pay and if they offered to pay, I paid the next time we all hung out. So I think that she needed the wake up call and advisement on getting a second job. You can’t expect someone else to pick up your tab if you can’t do it yourself to begin with…HOLLA!

I think you can have guy friends as long as you are comfortable with yourself, and understand how far you can take your friendship with your male friends.Both parties have to have a full understanding,and true meaning of friends.Plus sometimes guys are better friends than some chicks.   19. I think that a male and a female can just be friends … You just have to make sure you both know where to draw those lines! Plus, it really helps if you aren’t attracted to the other person to begin with.

  20. I think you can have guy friends as long as there is an understanding right from the start, if he does not want just friendship then let the relationship go. I have a couple of really good guy friends that I would not trade for anything, and they have been my friends for years. However we are older that may have something to do with it but I have to say I think it is possible. HOW YOU DOING??
