Wendy Meets the Big Sister in Her Head

Dreams do come true.

Natalie Cole has always been Wendy’s big sister — in her head — and Wendy was moved to tears when she welcomed her to the show.

Wendy has been very open about the vices she faced in the past, and it was Natalie Cole who also overcame a similar struggle that gave Wendy a lot of strength.

Take a look at this big moment for Wendy!

Tell Us: Who is the big sister in your head?

  1. Hi Wendy, my name is Yazlin Pagan. Im a young and intellegent 12 year old girl, from a small town called “Lawrence”. I have HUGE dreams. All my life ever since I was a young girl in diapers I dreamed of being a singer/dancer. I’m very talented and my mother has tried putting me through studios and acting school, but it all comes down to money and it has become extremely difficult or my mother to continue providing the money in order for me to make my dreams happen. Coming from a small town like “Lawrence MA” I have very little chances of succeeding. Never the less, I refuse to give up hope. As I write this I being to cry, because I begin to question myself and ask if my dreams can ever be accomplished. The chances are one to a million, but Wendy what are the chances that I can become that one? I’ve tried so many things i’ve performed here and there, but still i’ve gotten no where ): ! Sometimes I think about creating a youtube account like my inspiration and secrete celebrity crush Justin Bieber. Wendy i know you might not be reading this directly but it doesnt hurt to try. Please Wendy make my dreams come true let me become that one out of a million.

  2. I love Wendy and I have been listening to her on radio for years before she came to television. Unfortunately I had to listen to what I could in my car on the way home from work. Since I live on Eastern LI, I can’t pick up many radio stations. (Ironically any R and B stations, purely coincidental I am sure) . My comment is that I have noticed that Wendy cries very easily and while it shows compassion and humility, I would like to see her toughen up- meaning handling her interviews , talking about whatever she feels without breaking down. I’ve counted at least five times now, and I do believe wendy is going to be around for a long time. ..Let’s keep the show happy, fun, and girl stop that crying!!! Love Ya ..Shari from Long Island

Live TV folks keep this in mind. Wendy’s show is more alive than any other morning talk show host in all my years of watching daytime. “Friend In my head” …please ! Wendy Williams is a heroine in my head !

  6. Hi Mrs. Wendy

I have truly enjoyed your show, you always make me laugh and you are such a blessing.

You have the right things to say and you are just you and that is what make your show so enjoyable to watch.

May God bless you and your show that he will continue to give you favor and as my favorite scripture is – No Weapon formed against me shall prosper.

Continue to be Wendy Williams that is what the people love about you.

  7. MAKE-UP………

Wendy, what make-up did you have on? When you got emotional about Ms. Cole, your make-up did not miss a beat!!! Please share that make-up secret or product. Thank you so much.

PS – Your outfit was lovely; you really can rock some pencil skirts Ms. Thang!!! :~D

  8. How You Doin Wendy,

Just wanted to comment on your interview with Natalie(she’s my little sister in my head!!!). I have been a true fan of hers for years. Her voice is outstanding. I remember the days when I played her nine track “Inseparable”. My daughter used to complain, but guess what she loves now —— you’re right Natalie Cole’s Inseparable. I have never seen Natalie live, but when she comes to the area again, I intend to go see her with my daughter, and my grand daughter!!! Your interviews are down to earth and not phony at all.

Just got through watching you with Reggie Bush’s mom. She is adorable and does not seem to have changed her personality due to his success.

    Keep up the great work.

    Diane

  9. This might not be the right place for this question, but I didn’t know where else to send it! Does anyone know who makes the green sparkly dress Natalie Cole wore on Wendy? I love it, and I love Wendy!

  10. how u dooin wendy :) well after your Diane Carroll & Chris Brown interview, yday interview with Nataile Cole was just wonderful : ) She looks totally fab was was a wonderful guest to have. One note, when she gave you compliments on your personal growth and success, you seemed uncomfortable and tried to talk over it. Wendy, take it from some one who never listened to you on radio and never really liked your radio persona ( yup i said it) what Nataile said was on point. Your TV show has really allowed you to develop wonderfully even with the messy’ness, in a very good way. Why do you think your ratings are so high? So just a note Wendy, when your guests try to give you compliements, accept them graciously. Ciao :)

  11. Enjoy the show the large majority of the times, the hot topics are a trip. Yesterday show with Natalie C. was fine with the exception of Wendy appeared to become a little irritated atNatialie toward the end of the interview. At times, I believe that our sister Wendy don’t realize some of her mistakes,it’s with many belief that she is getting better and will learn as time progress. As they say, we’re all just a work in progress. I use to have negative feeling about the show but I do like Wendy and think with time and grooming she’s destine to all higher places in this industry. Maybe her camp needs to reconsider some of their approach to getting more A-Listers on the show. Natalie was coorect and people having pre-conceived ideas from the OLD WEDY INTERVIEWING FORMAT. I’m gonna continue to support her when I am home, so i wish her the very best,…… Now How You Doin?

  12. I’m so happy about Ms. Natalie was on your show. she like great.
    thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!yvonne

  13. Saw the show with fab Natalie Cole. I just could not believe that you guys had to pay to sing “Happy Birthday” to her on the air. I thought the song was in the public domain like the Bible. Is you (and the operative phrase is ‘is you’ not ‘are you’ – LOL) serr-ious.

  14. Wendy, How you doin? I want to let you know I have enjoyed your show with Natalie Cole. My Grandmother said she is our cousin. I know she is. My mother favors her. My Great grandmother is Anna bell Cole from Alabama. She is on Nat king Cole side.
She looks beautiful at the age sixty. My dream is to meet her personally. I have been praying to meet her and I know that God will let us meet. She is beautiful. Tell her I did sing happybirthday with the crowd on your tv show. It is shows like yours that keeps us closer to our family that we don’t know. Tell her she has the McCall family in Ohio who is praying for her. Wendy I love your show. My husband and I would like to visit your show one day.
God bless and keep being you.

    Love Gena Radabaugh.

  15. Wendy I have NEVER appreciated you as much as I did today….your crying on spot was phenomenol, I was so connected to you today. Good Job

  16. I watched the show, as usual, enjoyed it as usual*congratulations*.
    Regarding Natalie Cole’s interview.
I thought it interesting and affirming how the spirit speaks.
As Miss C tried effortlessly, but repeatedly, to blow out her birthday candles
and at one point fanning them with her hand. After it was all said and done,
one candle remained burning to commercial.
I feel THAT one candle signified undying energy and spirit.
The lives received that day in the hospital, she extended life and her sister eternal life.
That sister was there with Natalie and Wendy…..What a beautiful moment.

  17. Loved your interview today. You are both amazing women & looked great! Wendy, your makeup today was the bomb! Great lipstick!! ;O) Growing up, I always felt that Brooke Shields would be a great ‘big sister’, because I admired her beauty and drive in life to succeed. When I became an adult, and started to experience various situations, trials and tribulations, I gained a lot of respect for Mary J. Blige for all that she has come through. I feel that she is a wise soul, has a great perspective on life and could be *the* ideal big sister in my head to keep my head on straight. Not afraid to admit her mistakes, she shares her self awareness with the world through her music. She owns up to being a work in progress; like every other human on this earth and grows with every experience. Truly an amazing woman!
