Joan on Conan vs. Leno and Heidi Montag
Say it like you mean it!
When it comes to having an opinion, the hilarious Joan Rivers isn’t shy.
She’s one of the funniest women in show business and can always make us laugh…and her jewelry line is just fabulous!
Hear what Joan really thinks about the Conan vs. Leno late night fiasco and her take on Heidi Montag’s confession that she’s addicted to plastic surgery.

Thank you for having videos on your site so that we don’t miss the show. I loved Joan Rivers’ comments. The WW Show was pre-empted for bad weather in California last week. I prefer Wendy the Tornado to the real ones!

Hi Wendy:
Your show is more than amusing, but the “ASK WENDY” segment on either Wed or Thurs prompted me to comment. There was a woman whose boyfriend is in the Coast Guard and has been stationed somewhere for a year. She questioned whether she should break up with him even though they talk on the phone daily. I think you recommended a ‘split’. That answer, for the many people influenced by you, could potentially cause many problems for our thousands of military (including Coast Guard) men and women stationed around the world for months and years who don’t need to receive a “Dear John/Dear Jane” letter while in harm’s way. I hope this comment is received in the right spirit.

Hi Wendy How you doin? I just want to say that I love your show ever since I first watch you. Well wendy I watched your wednesday 1/20/09 show with Joan Rivers and you were talking about Plastic surgery and about Heidi 10 procedures and one thing that I agree with and know now is that in Hollywood no one cares about your beauty on the inside; I am for Cosmetic surgery but I do not think that you should do 10 procedures while you are young. I feel that if you don’t like a certain body part then you should fix it to make yourself feel better not by trying to become the next Brittney Spears I think Heidi needs to be herself. I feel that Heidi should have left her face alone now her face looks like a 30 year old. I was bothered that you said that she looks good yeah her body looks good but not her face she put 30yrs on her face and she dosen’t look that the happy girl we saw before. I also feel that we need to educate our young girls out threre that they are already beautiful and that Cosmetic surgery is used to improve a certain body part to make them feel good about themselves and not by becoming like the next pop star or everyone else.

Joan Rivers enough with the plastic surgery give it a break….Just age gracefully and regarding Heidi this is so ridiculous how could anyone it their right mind have 30 procedures in one day…It just makes me sick that these rich people would waste so much money..well I have a suggestion maybe she needs to send some of those funds to Haiti….and to you the fabulous Ms. Wendy “How u doin”???

I loved Joan Rivers!!! I thought she was excellent. She is a wonderful guest….. I am so mad I missed the first time she was on your coach. I always try to watch the show, but I can’t catch that first time she was on. O, well.

Hi wendy I am a long time fan of yours, I loved your radio show on wbls 107.5! I especially loved the way you kept it 100 to all the listeners when they would call in with some B.S But I think that tv has softened u a little! all the celebrities that u so call “love, love, love!” would have been the same ones that u would have dogged on the radio. C’mon wen lets keep it real, that’s where u got your claim to fame not just keeping it real with the audience at your show BUT the celebrities also!
Still love u and still gonna watch your show but anxiously waiting for the Real wendy williams to show up!!

Another comment – I do love Joan Rivers she was a good guest. When showing Rhianna’s photo at the game, may she was with her good friend – BTW he is FINE..don’t know why you didn’t comment on his looks like you do all the other little boys.

Hi Wendy – still waiting for the Urban, but in the mean time – your reply that that young girl Heidi loved fab – what were you looking at. She is a hot mess – looking like everyone else. Same thing happened with Jennifer Grey years years ago, because she wanted to look like everyone else, and I don’t think she has worked since that movie Dirty Dancing.
Not a good look for a 23 year old

Hi Wendy,
On a recent show (Joan Rivers and Judge Millian), during the ‘Ask Wendy’ section, a young mother stood to ask what should be her course of action for her son flipping her ‘the bird’. Your reply was to take away his favorite tv programming and to make him read as punishment. As an educator that disturbed me, as we have enough of a challenge getting students to read without it being associated as punishment. Reading should be viewed as opening doors and not something that is done (or made to be done) in a corner, in time-out, or as chastisement for doing wrong.

Hi Wendy,
I love your show and I watch it everyday. I love your style but when I heard you said that Heidi Montag’s new look was “fabulous,” I was shocked. Are we looking at the same pic of her new look? She obviously looks way older than 23 and her skin looks waxy. I’m not surprised that Joan Rivers thought Heidi looked great; Heidi now looks like a young version of her. I think it’s irresponsible to say that Heidi looks good (even when she doesn’t). Heidi was a beautiful girl before and she did not need the plastic surgery at all.

about heidi i think what she did was dumb…honestly she was beautiful the way she was why go and mess that up…she dont even look like here anymore…why not be happy with what god gave her…i could understand if she had kids and couldnt fix somethings naturally like her breasts sag or she cant get rid of the belly fat but why do it just to do it its dumb n i honestly dont think she looks any better i think she looked better the way she was

I love your show but it’s REALLY annoying and distracts form hot topics. Put someone who has actually DONE something like Michelle Obama.

Wendy,
I am an avid viewer of your show. I find you funny and real. I have never written a comment before but wish to share something that deeply disturbs me. On the 1/15 show you called Rhianna and her pics “disgusting.” As someone who has experienced a similar tragedy (Rhianna’s bout with severe domestic violence is no secret), I find it very reprehensible that you would demean this young lady in that way. She is 21 nd obviously dealing with a lot. Her recent “dark” image is no doubt a reflection of her experiences. Please be aware of the messages that you send young women in similar situations when you report “heidi looks good,” you call Paris Hilton (DUI and sex tape vixen) “a sweet girl” you constantly obsess about sex taping, superficial Kim K–all in the same show, but demean a young 21 y/o with a REAL CAREER who is just doing the best she can.
For all the her young fans who have experienced similar traumas, please be careful.
Respectfully,
Donna

Wendy,
I’m so outraged!!! When I started watching your show, I remember thinking to myself, “Who is this lady…and why does she have her own talk show?”. Over the past couple months, I have fallen in love with your show. You’re just plain fun!
That being said….I can’t believe anyone (esp. you) thinks Heidi Montag looks good. I’m so mad that such a beautiful girl would do that to herself. Before surgery…she had such a youthful glow….skinny….tan…blonde. Once you mess with things…you can’t get them back. I’m not against plastic surgery…but why, Why, WHY would you mess with something that pretty? Small tweeks can be a good thing…but anyone that has too much surgery starts to get that plastic surgery look. (Sorry Joan!) Heidi used to be a beautiful girl with natural flaws that worked for her and her body type. In my opinion, she has successfully turned herself into a butter face. (Everything looks good but her face.) =(
My rules on plastic surgery.
1) Love what God gave you. Fix things that start to head south or become broken along the way.
2) Fix things that cause you pain or suffering… and I don’t mean emotionally.
3) Do not get plastic surgery to try to look like someone else. (For example, get a nose job b/c your nose is huge….don’t get a nose job b/c you’d rather have someone elses nose.)
How you doin?

Hi Wendy,
This is my first time writing the show, and I’m sorry it has to be a complaint. Today Joan Rivers was completely out of line with her comment about the”Haitian babies, and Mariah Carey’s dress.” I know your show is live, and you can’t control what comes out of someone else’s mouth. I did see that you were obviously uncomfortable by her comment. I’m all for a good natured ribbing, but clearly she went way too far!!! Her comments were extremely insensitive and crass to say the least. I surely do hope that she thinks twice before making any other comments about people that are suffering so badly. Love you Wendy!!
Zen.

Okay, Here is the deal. My ma and I were so excited about your show today. EST for ma, your show comes on @ 10 a.m. And my ma is such a great Diva- she called me and put the phone on Speaker for me. Voila! I heard the show. (but only when my ma wasn’t laughing her butt off! haha)
Then, I get to see your show here @ 2 MST, and if that isn’t enough. I am then going to stay up tonite to catch your Encore performance on BET- which is 10 MST here.
Two Diva’s on 1 couch- well, its worth watching “AMAP” (aka…As Much As Possible!)
How you doing?

Wendy,
Aujourd’hui t ‘a tres elegance avec le joaillerie de Joan Rivers
B 4 Joan came onstage, I was in love with the necklace you were wearing, though it was hidden too much.
Once again, the darker hair brings out your complexion wonderfully and minus excessive blue shadow over the past few days ……guuuuurrlll you’re kicking.
Joan killed me with her humorous ‘get real’ slacks splittin’, zipper/button tuggin’ ,undies cuttin’ ….hey, those holidays will put on the pounds. I know just what Joan’s feelin’. Like her I conserve spending. I too recently donated my excellent working ’86 car, while being able to afford a luxury car, I don’t really need one. Kudos to Suzie…. have always had her mindset. JOAN is very practical, logical in general and tells it like it is.Great interview

Hey wendy How you doin?
whats going on with the new wigs i love them but they are starting to get plain like every other person on tv, you should go back every once in a while to your wigs that you had on your six week sneek peek. The ones you have on now are great and look nice butthey are starting to make you blend in with everybody else on tv and also the old ones matched your over the top personality.
Love you much and will always be you number 1 fan,
Deeran Anderson
