Before “Good Hair,” Chris Rock and Nia Long first met on a blind date in the 90s.

Nia was working on “Guiding Light” and Chris was a rising star on “Saturday Night Live!”

Nia tells us how the date went down and Chris reveals the REAL reason he never called Nia after their night out on the town.

Well the this is the time of the year where I don’t want too worry about my hair, so for the first time I’m getting a weave, and it’s not a cheap one 425 and she wants a 320 deposit and I assume it’s the cost to order the hair, so my question is so am I expected to tip and if so how much, cause I figure I would have to go back a lot for tighting and stuff…..Thanks Julius

  3. Wendy you are a friend in my head. Actually we met at Deko Lounge (formely Paradise in sayreville) you showed up to host the party and had a headache. That didn’t stop you and BIG KEV from asking for some bottles….LOL….So before you started you asked on the microphone if some one had asprin….And someone did….Well any way Im a HOW U DOOOOOOIN and I think your new slogin for XMAS should be one of the following.

    Wendy I just want to say I luv your show. I have to watch it every night before I go to sleep. I am a 39 year young mom and I have raise 2 young adults and a nephew and a slew of other people kids. Visting your show is on the top of the to do list when my last young adult graduate this coming may. hopefully see you soon!!!!

    I just wanted to say I watched Chris Rock & Nia Long on at least 5 different talk shows and your interview was the best. You asked the questions that everyone else stayed away from, specifically his wife hair. What he thinks about his wife Weave & Perm. You Nailed It. Your interview was entertaining and insightful. Love, Love It.

  11. Wendy! I am so upset! Everyone has been talking about good hair and I have been waiting for it to come out. I have been searching movie listing sites since last Friday. And what I found out really HURT my feelings. This movie is being shown 75 miles away from me, which is the nearest theater that is showing the movie. I live in DE, 30 mins from Philly and I can’t even find a listing in Philly… come on Philly? Really? Philly is a black city, what is up with that. My sister, daughter and a small group of black women were all going to go see the movie and have lunch and remember the days of sitting at our mother’s, aunt’s best friend’s feet with our backs towards them getting our hair greased and combed.
    Could I be wrong, am I missing listings, can you tell me where I can find a showing of this movie? Can you help me? Can anyone help me?

  13. Nia Long looks like a black american Jamie Lee Curtis, with hair cut and big teethy smile. But their both beautiful. And Chris Rock look so good he looks like he hasn’t aged at all.

  14. Maybe it’s me, but i didn’t enjoy the chemistry between Wendy and Chris Rock at the begining of the show on friday. I felt that he was holding back information. I’d seen him on other talk shows throughout the week and the chemistry was great. How could he not know what type of hair weave that his wife wears, because when he was on the Tyra Bank show, she should him different pictures of different types of hair weave and he was able to guess it.

What’s really going on I started watching Friday’s show with Chris Rock and after the first interview segment the show came back on with a completely different guest and a cooking segment and then Ask Wendy. You could tell the that 2 previous shows had been edited together bc Wendy’s hair and outfits changed. The Oklahoma Fox affiliate needs to get it together. By the “how you doing”

  17. LOL!! She is so down to earth. Love that when a celeb can truly be themselves! I agree…it is something that is so attractive about a man who loves and puts his family first. I am one of the lucky ones!! Can’t wait to see hid documentary. He is so smart as well! ( He must have a great woman by his side)!!!!!

  20. Love Chris Rock and looking forward to seeing his movie “Good Hair”. Glad he was on your show. Nia Long was great too, to bad they did not hook up, they would have made a great looking couple. I appreciate his love for his family. It would be great if all black men felt this way.
