Thursday December 3
Hair. Hair. Hair.
Is there such thing as “good hair?” That’s the question the hilarious Chris Rock tried to answer when he embarked on a journey to uncover the truth, lies and misconceptions about black hair.
Plus, actress Nia Long, who appears in Chris’s documentary, stops by.
This is one show that will keep you laughing!
End your week with a little Wendy!

Love love love your shows but cannot do re runs UNLESS it’s about real people; real life issues. Will you talk to real life people about real life issues on your show on the couch? Not much into what celebs do, never was, that’s just me. Lots of people like to follow the celeb’s life. I hope you are enjoying your time with your family because next week you will be ours again; lol.
one love,

Hi Wendy, I’m 20 years old and a cosmetologists and my definition of good hair is : Hair that looks good and feel good. The health of your hair also determines if your hair is good or not. no matter what texture or ethnicity whether its fine , normal, or course if it looks good and feel good thats all that matters. I can rock a fro but if you can run your hands through it and it doesn’t get caught and it shining and flowing then i have good hair.

damn the lonnnng comment that woman wrote spoke alot of truth. as a blk woman with a relaxer im not sure what to expect with the movie. however i do feel its going to pick apart our race in front of everyobe. even if it is just hair i can see where people would be upset. but lets wait for us to see it. hope he proves us wrong… no other races tears eachother apart like the blk race and im sick of it.

Happy Nappy
Blonde hair, blue eyes and Black as can be
Dark brown roots and a blonde pony-tail down to my knee
It had gotten so, I didn’t even recognize me
Forty-seven years, I’d been running,
Yea that’s right, running from reality
But you see the real deal is,
No longer do I have to go into
The beauty supply stores, searching the shelves,
Trying to find myself
“Cause you see I’m Dark and Lovely all by myself
Happy Nappy, that’s me!
See I was sitting around the other night,
Trying to sort it all out, still I ain’t figured out,
How I spent so much time and money
Trying to be something that I’m not
Sitting in a beauty salon, all day long
And every five minutes, my hairdresser
Is either eating or on the damn telephone
So you see, I don’t want no mo perms,
Pony-tails, colors, cuts, wigs or tracks
Blow dryers, curling irons and none of that
Cause you see I’m Dark and Lovely without all that
Happy Nappy, that’s me!
But what I did figure out, is how you
Brainwashed me at a very early age
See, every time I opened up a magazine
There she was, thin white girl with long
Straight blonde hair, on every single page
And when I turned on the TV, even though
They called it black and white
All three channels, but not a person of color in sight
Oh, unless of course his or her were painted white
That’s when it occurred to me, that what I got comes from God
It’s not about the outside the truth is in the heart
So when you see this kinky hair, voluptuous lips,
Curve hips and smooth Black skin know that it’s merely a shell
For all the beauty that lies within
Well I just be damned, I just found myself, inside myself
Yea that’s right, I’m Dark and Lovely all by myself
That’s me! “HAPPY NAPPY”

Chris Rock acting like,, like his wife comb his kids hair! I sure they have people who do that for them….I can’t wait for my child to get to the right age to perm her hair, not everyone have money to take the kids to the africa people to braid it every week and not everyone can braid..I’m one of the lucy moms I can braid ” God bless the the perm”
I want Chris Rock to come to my house the day of ” Wash, Grease and Comb” and don’t forget the length of time and see what he thinks.

I like Chris Rock. I have enjoyed his work as a comedienne.
Please ask Chris WHY??? Why is it that only black men (publicly) call out black women about wearing weaves, wigs & hair extensions of all things. As white women, latin, japanese an other breeds of women all have beauty enhancers that some are exclusive to them, and never has any other man (men) done this to their women as a whole. I’ve never heard Hugh Hefner mention all the wigs, hair extensions, weaves and other cosmetic artifacts that his covergirls use to beautify them self. Raquel Welch has a wig collection, whose her target market? Over the years many WHITE beauties have adorned them self with hair pieces, extensions, wigs and weaves and not once have they been called out publicly for their cosmetic surgeries, hair or simply looking good by whatever means they can accomplish it. Surely not even as a joke would a white man criticize (publicly) tell any “other” woman “to run if they see a white woman who might try to steal her hair.” I get it (I guess) that his movie is a done to comically enlighten, but why at the expense of subtley degrading or making a mockery of a black womans choice to wear a wig, weave, extensions as her hair? If black men revered black woman as they do THE WHITE MAN and what’s his; perhaps these perceptions and inconsequential issues would have no relevance. If his daughters have issue or concerns about their own hair, as a father he should lovingly address that; racism and the ongoing destructive (self) black hate. His movie seems to be making insenstive potshots towards black woman and their hair or lack of. Not all black women or women in general wear wigs or weaves to cosmetically enhance themself. Some wear as a result of health issues, loss of hair and women undertaking chemotherapy. Perhaps there’s a logical explanation. Why not a movie on why (some) black men do not find black women beautiful? Why some black men think his daughter’s hair, physical features and skin tone isn’t beautiful? Why is this “hair” still an issue. Why white, latin, asian and other Daddy’s don’t make movies about Mom’s, Grandmothers, aunties, cousins, and sisters hair? Please hear me; they all wear weaves, but, are privileged to do so as a personal choice without condemnation. Our white counterparts have been weaving it, bouncing it, extending it, coloring it, and beautifying it (as they should) since they STARTED it… no one has said a word about it or made it be an issue. Why now? Everything becomes an issue when a black woman tries to up her game and simply get her hair done however she would like.
