Why set that particular tone on a first performance? It was too risky! He’s definately X’d out a potential fan base. Not everyone followed him on American Idol.. he needs to play is safe for a bit before deciding whether he needs to share his personal life with the audience. I mean – c’mon! Either you’re a great singer or you’re not.

I watched the performance.. While I feel he didn’t cross the line in comparison to other past performances, he sort of “boxed” himself in a corner. Why do that?? He’s a new arrival! Why set THAT

Firstly, I love your show and I’m so happy to see someone as loose & messy as I am with their own show! Bravo, Prima Donna Assoluta Wendy Williams!
Secondly, you are ab-fab when on the air and really remind me of the true divas of the screen- the Hollywood Bombshells of the 30’s-50’s. Just GLAMOUR! I would love if you could give me a little “how you doin’?” in their style:
Check over the right shoulder
Check over the left shoulder
Fluff the hair
And smolder!
Now to young, Mr. Lambert:
I’m not entirely sure if Adam went to far or not. As a gay man, however, I’m certain that it truly started a discussion. I have to admit that I, like you Wendy, didn’t know one of Adam Lambert’s songs (and still don’t I might add) and to a certain degree, I agree with you that as a new artist he should have just gone out and done a good performance. The artist in me (8 years of professional ballet & choreography work) knows that if you don’t come out of the box with the image that you want to create, there are no retakes. Lady Gaga would NEVER be taken seriously right now if she were to sing a love ballad in a vintage, black Givenchy gown. Not gonna happen! If Adam Lambert is going for the gay rockstar image, which really could work for him, a boy’s gotta do what a boy’s gotta do. Also, according to the AP, the “crotch in face” part was not spontaneous and was part of a rehearsal, so how suprised could the producers of the AMA’s really be? His appearance on tomorrow’s edition of Good Morning America was cancelled “comma but” he was picked up by CBS for The Early Show…when one door closes, a window opens and we’ll still be talkin’! How you doin’? Love ya like my Gucci, Wendy!

After thinking about it for awhile, I’ve come to the conclusion that some of the acts (shoving the guys face in his crotch) was jaw dropping, I think I would rather see that performance then looking at some of the crime show ‘autopsy’ bodies they are showing lately. This performance was on very late at night where as the CSI and Law and Order shows are on during prime time. I’d rather see grinding hips then ground up body parts thank you…

yes he did he kissed on the show and he should not have did that but thats him creative

I don’t think it was over the line. I literally heard NO complaints when it was Madonna, Britney & Christina Aguilera sharing a kiss. Cable or not, doesn’t matter. These complainers are complaining because of the act, not that it was network TV. Frankly, GMA pulling Adam’s performance just says to me that they are a bunch of cowards, and will cow-tow to their whiners. I will no longer be watching ABC or GMA.

Hi Wendy!
“How U Doin’”? This is my first visit to your website! I love your show and I have seen every episode since it began last year with your 6 week “sneak peek”.
Anyway Wendy- I have discussed Adam Lambert’s AMA performance with several of my friends, Gay and Straight. We all agree- No Wendy, Adam did NOT go “too far”. With all due respect- ABC KNEW what they were getting themselves into when they asked Adam to perform on their show. ABC KNEW Adam was Gay and they also KNEW from Adam’s later performances on “American Idol” that he would “push the envelope”. ABC also KNEW the audience would stay tuned in to see Adam’s performance and saved him to close the show so they could keep their ratings consistent. I think it is horrible that ABC canceled his appearance on “Good Morning America” tomorrow and is now “backpeddling” and apologizing because some people were offended. ABC doesn’t want to take the heat AFTER the fact, KNOWING FULL WELL that Adam Lambert would be giving a sexually provocative performance on their show. This makes them hypocrites as far as I’m concerned.
The type of performance Adam gave a few nights ago is nothing new. 35+ years ago, Music Superstars such as David Bowie, Alice Cooper, Kiss and Groups such as Queen, The New York Dolls and The Sweet performed Music known as “Glam Rock”. The fashions for this Music were quite androgynous. Alice Cooper, The New York Dolls and Kiss wore Make-up, David Bowie was Bi-Sexual, Freddie Mercury was Gay. Adam is simply bringing back a Music and Performance Style that many are too young to know about, or that others have maybe forgotten about. In today’s Sexually charged Society, it is just a little more Expressive and Graphic than it was many years ago.
Let’s face it Wendy- Madonna has given several risque performances on Television, the most obvious being her MTV Awards “Tongue-Down” with Britney Spears in 2004. Prince also performed on the MTV Awards in 1991 with his Bare Ass showing! Last year Katy Perry had a Hit Song entitled “I Kissed A Girl” (and I Liked it)”. Those incidents did not create the furor that is now happening over Adam Lambert’s AMA Performance. And you know as well as I do Wendy that many Hip Hop and R&B Artists have live performances and Music Videos that are so close to X-Rated, they may as as well just have Sex on screen or on the stage and be done with it already! Men have, and still do, use women as sexual objects in their videos and stage performances. The only reason this is such a huge uproar is because Adam is a GAY MALE! PERIOD! This is a “Double Standard” as far as I’m concerned. We know Society, particularly Heterosexual Society, still has issues with public displays of affection and sexuality between MEN! This is where it lies, plain and simple!
And isn’t it ironic that in this very same AMA show, 50 Cent and Enenim gave a Profanity Laced “performance” (if you want to call it that) where every other word out of their mouth had to be censored by a bleep? Do you mean to tell me the AMA Producers were not aware of the Songs Content beforehand? Does one find THAT acceptable? Where is the outrage there?
I could say a lot more Wendy but I have made my point.
I wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving. Thanks for giving me something to look forward to when I get home from work every day!
Love Ya,
Robert

Hi Wendy,
I’m a 45 white woman, semi conservative, semi whatever. A few comments, yes I saw your show yesterday with your bustier’ top, yes I saw your right boob skin, I also see every person you interview look at your boobs, I WOULD TOO!! I think you are COOL AS S–T! I love you and your personality KUDOS, shake your $$ maker!
As for Adam Lambert, Todays’s Show canceled his performance, they are cowards!!! Lady GaGa was on Jay Leno last night with one of her dancers holding her up with his hand between her legs??? She was dressed in her performance with stuff between her legs, outlandish stuff. Who the heck cares!! Performers are getting in more theatrics so what. They are artists, as you. Let’s embrace the change!
Love Ya,
Tawnia

I believe Adam Lambert’s actions were premature. Singers want to be become known first as a singer. But Adam’s actions label him … The type of label I’m not sure.. but he is labeled… that leaves a bad taste in people’s mouth
In the Chicago Tribure states:
AMA Backlash: ‘Good Morning America’ cancels Lambert performance
Bottomline: Adam Lambert actions was too much too soon……

I watched the performance and all in all it was a good performance. The kiss didnt bother me any but some of the face to crotch thrust I think were a lil too much. But just like heterosexual sexually based performances he has every right to his performance.

Well I just wanna say first that I’m not a girl dat experiences with the same sex but however I do think that all sexuality is sexy!!!! Everyone knows that Adam is gay so what’s the big deal? Everyone is their own person and I think it is important for people to be different. If your worried about your kids seeing it & that’s why ur upset with the show then your in for a big surprise, cause kids will see it no matter what!!! Same sex sexuality is not just show on cable, it’s in the schools too!!!!!!! Kids can form their own opinions, they don’t need an older person to form their thoughts!!!! I loved Adams show!! I remember guy kissing guys in school and girls kissing girls, so trust me when I say same sex sexuality is everywhere and people need to get over them self’s!! there is no such thing as a perfect image!!!! I cant believe it’s the double O and America has a problem with someone do them & being themselves

I am from Italy and we are used of seeing pretty graphic things on TV and we are not easily shocked.
I find it ridiculous how sometimes people have the audacity of being shocked when they see something like Adam’s performance when in reality they should be more concerned about teen pregnancies and more important matters.
In my country we see commercials of shower gels showing nipples at 6 pm and we don’t find it outreageous.
Calm down and maybe find it a reason to open an honest discussion with your kids..keep trying to shield them from the “sex talk” and there will be more teen moms.
Wake up.

Hey Wendy
Love the show, I didn’t even flinch when watching Adam’s performance. He is going for rock star status. he wants a career like David Bowie or Freddy Mercury, and he won’t get that if he Disneyfies his performance. Jeez stop being so conservative although you say you are lose I have been listening to you on various stations for years you know how you get. LOL. but back in the ’70’s before he was even born being crazy like that would have had him on the cover of Rolling Stone now he is being jumped on. Oh please. by the way i am listening to his cd on AOL free listening party. its not bad at all he would totally appeal to the glam rock audience.
take care.

How u do”n Wendy.
This is Omega From Charleston, SC.. I must say that it was any eyebrow raising show but I loved it. It was not any more outlandish than what we see on prime time tv:(sexualaly speaking). He is an artist and it was creative and tastefully done if you are going to look at the performance as a grown up. As for our young viewers all I can say is that it was no worse than watching some of the cartoon shows that are supposed to be comedy /family oriented that come on right before you call you teen and babies to the dinner table…HOW U DO”N
