Michelle Obama Fashion Trends
First Lady Fashion.
President Obama made history when he became the first African American elected president of the United States and First Lady Michelle Obama is leaving her own mark on our country.
Not only is she the Mom-in-Chief, but Michelle Obama has proven herself to be a fierce fashionista.
InStyle magazine senior editor Isabel Gonzales Whitaker shows us how to get Michelle Obama’s look.
Check out these First Lady looks!
Bold Cardigan: Look for thinner weaves that won’t add bulk.
The new business chic swaps restrained suit jackets for spirited sweaters, often belted at the waist, and paired with a classic white shirt, with a feminine touch of ruffles. Completing the ensemble in true First Lady style is a textured pencil skirt. The knee-length may be simple, but the fabric is quite the opposite in a rich tweed with a punch of color.

Bright Sheath: Deeper hues transition well for fall and winter months.
A vibrant dress, in a classic body-skimming shape of a sheath dress, is the ultimate figure flatterer. First Lady Michelle Obama often pairs hers with a gorgeous statement brooch, but on this particular dress the adornment is actually part of the sheath.

Obama’s Watching Wendy!

I just don’t get it. The media has reduced M Obama into a pretty black woman that wears cheap dresses. She’s not ugly, but she’s just not all that. I just don’t see it. I thought once upon a time she was an attorney with a brain. What happened?

SHE by Sheree is beautiful, some may be for our first lady, but I don’t think the style is for Machelle Obama.

I REALLY LIKE PRETTY MUCH ALL OF DA FASHIONS PRESENTED AS WELL AS SOME OF URS MRS. WENDY, HOWEVER, MS. ISABEL GONZALES SHOES WERE NOT WHAT I WULD’VE PUT HER IN.

m obama wishes she had the grace decorum and style of jackie o too me m obama looks corny she seems to have no genuine flair for fashion at all she seems to be dressing in a formulaic way, the way she thinks the first lady should dress and sorry but shes woefully missing the mark

WENDY!!!
How YOU Doin?!!
I am currently watching your 8am replay of last night’s show. As I am watching, I am digging through my closet trying to find something to wear to work; so what better timing for the”Michelle Obama” Fashion Show to come on!!! What look did I decide to go with… the cardigan look. I chose to wear a black pencil skirt with a little ruffled flare at the bottom, a sheer white button up and a khaki cardigan with a leopard print belt around the waist!
Thanks for making my morning flow a little better

When providing information on clothes and where to buy, it would be more helpful than just providing a link to the stores webpage, but to also list the item number. I have YET to be able to find ANYTHING you all show that either a model or Wendy is wearing. What’s the point than obviously giving the designer a free plug if we can find the items.
THANK YOU FOR LISTENING

IT’S AMAZING TO ME THAT SOME PEOPLE FEEL SO OFFENDED BY THE WAY OUR FIRST LADY DRESSES INFACT I WOULD BE WILLING TO BET THAT THOSE WHO ARE OFFENDED ARE PROBABLY OUT OF SHAPE, SWEATPANTS WEARING, ROLLERS IN HER HAIR, STAY AT HOME, DOING NOTHING BUT EATING, WOMEN. GET OUT AND GET A LIFE THEN MAYBE YOU WONT BE SO OFFENDED WHEN YOU SEE HOW AN EDUCATED WELL ROUNDED WOMAN CARRYS HERSELF AND DRESSES.

I don’t know what you people consider style..but Mrs. Obama is right on as far as her style. I personally thinks she dresses better than Jackie O…I guess I can relate more to her style of dressing and she also seems more accessable to me.

Hi Wendy, my name is Mavis and I love your show. I truly enjoyed the Michelle Obama fashion. I also took note of the fact that the first model (Marlo) looks a lot like Kate Gosselin. I was wondering if anyone else noticed that.
HOW YOU DOING?!!!!!!!

Wendy, the people that you choose from the studio audience really do a great job modeling. You would think they were all professionals if you didn’t announce it. Keep up the good work and I loved the Obama fashions today. How you doin???

i think that the michelle obama fashions were very good especially the black and white jacket and the dress too with the pendant on it and the shoes too.

How you doin’. I like many of the others personally do not like what Mrs. Obama wears. There are times that she looks nice but they are few and far between. Granted you can use the excuse that because of the reccession she has to play it down, but she wore clothes like that as a senator’s wife. You can shop Target/Walmart/Kohls and still look good. She just doesn’t but I still like her.

These are not affordable if we consider a lot of poor or low-income people that still need to be motivated to feel as part of the general mainstream. Other than shoes from Payless and earrings from Limited, there isn’t much for them…

Hey Wendy,
my comment is i love our first family to no end, but mrs. obama could dress better than she does being that she is the first lady of the united states of america. if it was me . . . i would wear the best styled dresses and suits and almost always be sexy lookin!!!!
didn’t see the show today but seeing the pics on your website, she dresses the way i do going to the office. i think she contributes her dressing to the way the economy is . . . . but guess what you’re the first lady of u.s. . . . . come on now, Michelle. yes, i think she can/should dress better. Jackie O wasn’t holdin them up, okaaaayyyy!

Wendy;
I must tell you that I seem to be addicted to yr show! How you doin’? (smile)
But, I have what is now a small bone to pick w/ you:
I can tell by yr comments about yr exp w/ Mary J. Blige, that you don’t see yrself as a celebrity–you think that she is/they are! Listen, you are too! And because of that, I want you to be mindful of sharing too much of yr personal life with the audience. We should not know what yr husband’s and son’s name is! & the fact that he was out of school yesterday. We love you and know that you are a real sista’, w/out yr revealing too much about yr family. As the show becomes more and more popular (& it will!), so will you & the public will have that info about Big & Lil’ Kev. Take some cues from Kim Cole and Janet Jackson: no one even knew they were married until they were getting divorced! Oprah gave Beyonce similar advice and it paid off for her, for she was able to plan and execute an elaborate wedding in secret/private.
OK, I’m off of my soapbox now. How you doin’?
Much love from yr sista’ in my head,
Ben Price, Denver, CO (originally from ATL!)

Wendy I love you and your show…you are so entertaining and honest BUT Michelle Obama has no taste in clothes…sorry but she doesn’t! I hope I never hear anyone compare her style to Jackie Kennedy again..the woman is way out of Jackie Kennedys range. The class and respect that the White House once had is gone! I don’t give a flip about how her arms look..you just don’t wear the clothes she wears out to official functions! You have a right to your opinions and I do too…but I had to leave the room today during your show because I was getting nauseated over the gushing of Michelle Obama. Sorry…love your show and will watch it tomorrow. Thanks for letting me vent….How You Doin!
