Shhhh…It’s a Surprise!

Candence from Atlanta, Georgia left a comment on our site to tell us about her amazing daughter Leah.

Candence is a single mom raising three girls and things are tough right now. Her daughter Leah works really hard in school and helps out around the house and is a good role model for her younger sisters.

Leah’s about to celebrate her 16th birthday, she loves Wendy and Candence wanted to do something special for her daughter.

When Wendy read this viewer comment she had the perfect idea!

Take a look!

  1. Hey Wendy it’s Derick from Howard Beach. Damn Wendy i was watching the show this morning and later at night. Wow u really wanted sum of that food. umm. Im a faithful viewer. You are really a friend in my head. Congrats on all ur success !!

  2. Hi Wendy!

I like your show. The format is different and fresh. However, I’m sorry, because I have to comment on something that bothers me about you. You said you use to be “in the closet” years ago regarding wearing a wig. Why don’t you allow your guest to come out of the closet when they are emotionally ready, rather than you “OUTING” them on each show by asking them if they are solely wearing their full head of hair or, do they have on a wig or extensions. I believe it’s something within that makes you feel that you have to know if every string on the woman’s hair is her own. Please allow all these women to broadcast, in their own time, when they are ready to OUT themselves about their hair. Allow them to grow and get to your level of openness.

On one of your shows, you started feeling through a 14 year old child’s hair to find out if her beautiful hair was all her own, that was really a telling moment. It shows that you are not free about your hair, because you have a “need to know” attitude when you see women with beautiful hair, especially African American women.

We will know when you are Truly Free about your hair, and that’s when it doesn’t matter if others are wearing their own hair or not!

I’m sorry, but I’m just being honest. I truly enjoy your show, and I hope you continued success!

  9. Dear Wendy,
My name is Shanell Henry and I am a HUGE fan of yours. I am 21yrs old and a student pursuing a career in the medical field.I have watched your show since day one and I fell in love with your show. I have been going through so much in my life from dealing with many different health issues. you have always been an inspiration to me from the moment I saw your show. I always was confident in who I was and after watching you I am even more confident in who I am. I have been asking people to please try and contact you for me and no one would. I am actually crying writing this because the thought that you can possibly read my story is SOOOOOOO exciting to me! I follow you on twitter and watch your show because with all I have going on now I NEED your positive energy! I just wanted to say that I love you Wendy and I think your FAB! I really hope to meet you one day! O an HOW YOU DOIN????

  10. Wendy, I have been a fan of yours since radio days in Philly 10 years ago. You embody to me the confidence I want to exude and your personality is refreshingly authentic. I am 24, a single mom in DC and an aspiring journalist, but lately after all that I have been through, I’m starting to view my life as a social experiment. I am becoming hardened and tainted by the harsh realities of social injustice. I believe in personal choice, but I feel like women who choose to have abortions reap societal rewards and those of us who believed our unborn deserved a chance are not only looked down upon, but very much discriminated on. I have learned though. I used to be a bad girl, but I swear I am trying to do right now. I have immense potential, but I need advice on where to start and how to dodge these life traps.

YOU absolutely made my night with the Sweet 16 surprise. YOU ARE THE BEST!!!

As of next year I will be a woman of a particular age and I so appreciate these moments!!! I am going to see if I can be there Monday to see that young lady open for you, I know she is going to be excited unitl she gets to NYC.

THIS SHOW GETS AN A+ FOR ORIGINALITY & FLAVOR!!!
