Wendy’s take on Whitney Houston’s Interview with Oprah.

On today’s show Wendy became emotional when she talked about Whitney’s interview with Oprah and broke down when she discussed her own past battle with drug abuse.

  1. Hi Wendy! I just wanted to say that I think you are such a strong, motivating and FABULOUS person! I really admire your courage and strength and widom that you have. You are REEALLY inspirational to me. You had an addiction and you now are sober and owning it and I really look up to you for that.

  2. Hi Wendy, I just wanted to say I was a drug addict 5yrs ago and I own it also. I just want to say I cried with ya girlfriend when you admitted to your past and I’m very sorry your biggest “hero” disappointed you. I have learned many family and friends have disappointed me and I just have to go on and see if they some how down the road they realize verbally tell me they knew they let me down or they inquire as to why I was not happy with them and allow me to explain my emotional rants of them. Anyway I still watch your show whether it’s a rerun or not your still a funny gal in my book.

I DID NOT LIKE ALL THE INFOMATION ABOUT HOW HER AND BOBBY HANDLED ALL THE MESS. I LOOK FORWARD TO HER NEW SONGS COMING OUT AND WILL BE THERE TO GET MY COPY. WHITNEY PLEASE CONT TO PRAY AND BE REAL AND HONEST WITH YOURSELF BECAUSE THAT IS THE ONLY WAY YOU WILL BE ABLE TO MOVE FORWARD!!!

    i just want to let you know how much i have come to love you and your show!! i have appreicated all the realness in the show and you. this show you did on Sept 18, 2010 was GREAT!! i had no idea that you had a ten year problem with drugs. i just wanted to thank you so much for sharing that private part of your life with us which by the way you could have been like so many of us who cont to hide what we do not want people to know about us. that in itself is such a hard way of life when we want help or trying to help even one person with our story. i feel like you do about Whitney, i love her to death, and she was always my favorite female singer, but the interview, well i was upset with it because i did not feel she was for real! so thank you for owning up to your battle and remember it is and will always be a battle, but God can and will help you with the baby steps to a better life that you will receive. once again, than you for ketting it REAL!!

    I do like your show, but you disappointed me again when you had the chance to comment on Oprah’s interview with Whitney. I did love that you had Patti Labelle on …Love her. And I KNOW Patti loves Whitney, she doesn’t take shots at her like you seem to when you get the chance.
    I do think Whitney “owned” it. Unlike the Diane interview & Whitney admitted that. She may have not owned it in the words/way you wanted her to, but she’s not you….everybody has their own way. Thank god for her TRUE fans, her family, HER MOM, HER DAUGHTER, and everybody else that has shown her nothing but LOVE & SUPPORT.
    For once I wish you would stop taking shots at Whitney, cuz you always do.
    God bless her for having the strength.
    Whitney deserves an applause for what she has battled thru, not just you Wendy.

  9. Wendy, Wendy, Wendy…… I just recently started watching your show and I think you’re great. I think you’re open and honest and funny as hell!! I wasn’t really sure about your deep “attraction” to Whitney Houston until I saw this piece. As a fan I have to say that I am so dissappointed in you. I think it’s great that you’ve OWNED UP to your battles in life and that you’ve come to be the person you are. But I don’t think you’re being fair to Whitney – she is just getting over her battles and maybe not even quite done with them. You’ve had 10 YEARS to realize the affects that it made in your life – don’t you think that in 10 years, she can look back and talk more openly about it just like you did? I’m sure it took you a while!! If you “love” Whitney like you say you do – and I truely believe you have love (or something!?) for her – then maybe you ought to give her a thumbs up for finally coming out with the truth, INSTEAD of comparing YOUR drug past to hers!! To me, your tears came from remembering YOUR own bad experiences. Don’t hate her for taking her first step. Give her the props that she needs right now, especially if you’re the fan you say you are!!!

I HAD 4 YEARS CLEAN AND SOBER FROM HERION TWO YEARS AGO I WAS IN DENIAL OF HES DEATH 2MONTHS LATER I HAD A MISCARRIGE AND WENT INTO TOO A BAD DEPRESSION AND RELAPED IAM FINALLY FIGHTING THE FIGHT AGAIN ITS NOT EASY LIKE I SAY TO MY DRUG CONSELOR I CANT TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME I NEED TO TAKE IT EVERY MINUTE OF THE DAY !!! IT HARD IAM FIMALLY DEALING WITH MY FIANCES DEATH AND NO ONE KNOWS HOW I FEEL WE LOVED EACH AND OTHER SO MUCH HE WAS THE BEST MAN IN THE WORLD .. HE WAS SO GOOD TO ME NEVER HURT ME MY FRIEND DONT UNDERSTAND WHY I CANT LISTEN TO THEM TALK ABOUT THERE FIGHTING WITH THERE BOYFRIENDS AND THAT THEY HIT THEM I TELL THEM TOO LEAVE THEM DONT LET MEN HITYOU !!!     Whitney did Own it! I am sorry I do not agree with you. Bobby Brown had a big influence over her. In trying to be a good wife she joined in on the fun. I believe that Bobby was her drug! She owned it when she was honest about still having the cravings and the fact that she has to shake it off.

    This is how I feel.

    How you doin?? I watched the Oprah interview with Whitney. I was not feeling her honesty or ownership. She chose carefully how she answered each question. Many times she hesitated before the lie flowed from her lips. 2002: I compared this interview with her Diane Sawyer interview. She was so indenial. Her reasons for wieght loss- emotional stress. She denied drug use. People should remember she is an actress. Whitney can act her way out of any interview. Diane caught her in too many lies during the interview. 2003: Radio interview with you – Wendy – She was still talking smack and still with Bobby Brown (who had just got out of jail). Wendy said the interview with Sawyer was intertaining. She would not admit her drug use. She was indenial, lying and angry. She told you to shush your mouth. She was destructive and defensive. She was a full blown drug addict. She was claiming how she and Bobby were so right for each other.

    Hello!! am I missing something. Can anyone not see through her anger and need? Her mother finally did intervene with the law. It took her mother, not Whitney to make the decision. A true addict has to make the decision for change and admit their responsibility. She had done neither. I pray that she makes it. I wish her much success, but I fear Ms Houston is a better actress, than singer. She deserves an Oscar for pulling off her change without admitting her responsibility.

    I am one of your fans and really enjoy your show. Honesty, and being down-to-earth is always refreshing, and that’s what I get from you and your show. Please keep it up! I think you were right on with your comments regarding Kanye West and Whitney Houston. I prayed for Whitney to come back and share the greatest gift God gave her to share with the world. Thank you so much for refreshing my day with your show. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT!

    I wanted to ask one thing, am I the only one who thinks that Beyonce is a little vulgar at times, and young girls are looking up to her as a role model, and all she can give them in her videos is sexual gyrations and half-naked most times. What do you think, am I out of touch with reality or too old school to make that comment. She’s beautiful, young and has a nice figure, but does she really think or feel that in order to be popular and on top, you have to disrespect yourself and maybe her husband?   17. will wendy you did good,because l went thru alot with mu hushand and 13 years he is doing great ok he was arcolic, crack,and anything you name it, thanks god that l was there with him on bad day and good day, l have 3 beautiful kids and my kids it his god bless with my beautiful and wonderful kids and my hushand, so l understand where you came from, and look at yourself you did it girl god bless you. god always going to be there for you sister williams. l love your show and l’ll like to meet you very soon. remeber god is good………………………. keep on you doing great.

    I just started watching your show,Quess What? I Love It. You know people can’t handle the truth. I can ,because if you are told the truth wheater it’s good or bad you can learn from what is told to you and use it to make yourself better. I’m from Philly!

  19. i thought it was heart felt and honest eventually you have to face your demons and thank god for her mama that made her realized that she is a valuable and loved human being she has to be around for her family , god want her to keep sharing her talent with the world i say yo go girl!!!
