My daughter was just invited to a close friends’ wedding. All the girls in their close circle were told that only the “married” or “engaged” women could bring a date. But she also wanted the “single”, “dateless” women to help her offset the
cost of her wedding. My daughter was asked to buy FOUR DOZEN ROSES. I don’t know if this is the “new etiquette” for weddings. But I can’t imagine paying for flowers for someone else’s wedding when I can’t even bring a date. My daughter feels obligated to comply. I’m more upset with her for caving in, than I am with the bride for asking. Please help me understand.

Re: The violin boy question on the Ask Wendy segment on the February 5 Friday show–YIKES, what a terrible response from Wendy.
I BEG to differ with that psychologist Wendy Williams on allowing the boy to quit violin lessons WITHOUT A GOOD REASON. The mother said he hadn’t given an understandable reason for quitting. And YOU, Wendy, automatically said “let him quit.”
Did it EVER OCCUR to that brain of yours that he was teased by other boys for playing a “sissy” instrument? I guarantee you he would not have quit music lessons had he been playing the trombone.
And I further guarantee that he would not have wanted to quit had he been a girl instead of a boy.
And YOU OF ALL PEOPLE know that funding for music in schools is constantly being cut. I heve NEVER HEARD of an adult who remained angry at a parent for forcing them to take music lessons.
THINK THINK THINK before you give such glib answers, furchrissakes, you were SO wrong in your response.

Hey Wendy, I really love your show. I must tell you that I live in Michigan and evidently there has been a problem with your show and Martha Stewarts show being twisted. I have Comcast Cable and use it’s DVR to record your show. So at 10:00 it show’s Martha Stewart and at 12:00 it shows your show still. So what I have to do is tape Martha’s show in order to watch your show. So I believe that Martha is maybe getting your ratings. Please investigate this because I want you to get your full ratings you deserve.
P.S. For this mix up, I missed two of your episodes.

Hello Wendy,
I get the Essence Magazine email and I saw you and Natalie Cole posing together at her 60th birthday party. You guys look good together and its a Kodac moment. I saved it in my favorite. Wendy out of all the talk shows, yours is the most decent one. I really like it that you keep it clean. Thanks. I can watch it with my grandkids. I try not to think that I am hook on your show, but that’s a lie. I love your show. Your seasonal ladie in Tennessee. By now you should know who I am. How You Doin?
