Hi Wendy,
On a show that I saw recently you raved about an online store called “Fabulous Furs”.
I am hear to tell you that they are FAR from fabulous and you should never endorse them again!
I went online on 1/6/2010 and placed an overnight order for a gift for my neice – her party was 1/11/2010.
I spoke to shipping on the evening of 1/6/2010 to make sure it would arrive in time – they told me I would receive it on 1/8/2010.
At 3pm on the 8th – no package. I called back THREE times and was told all three times that customer service was busy – but they would put in an URGENT request for someone to call me back (one person I talked to was a supervisor who said she would move my call to the top of the queue). Not only did no one call me back – but the FEDEX tracking number I was giving was no good – the FEDEX tracking system did not recognise the number.
I called again on Saturday the morning of the 9th to be told that although there are plenty of people who could take a new order – there was no one that could help me as customer service only works M-F from 9am – 5pm. Additionally – not only was the FEDEX number still bad – but the way they ship (so as not to incurr extra charges) meant that my overnight shipment (that was to arrive on the 8th) had not been shipped until Friday the 8th – and since they did not pay extra for Saturday delivery (which I would have been happy to pay for) the package would not arrive until Monday the 11th.
I’m not sure what was worse:
The fact that all of the customer service lines were always busy and I was forwarded to the order taking call center
The fact that the call center had very limited visibility to what was going on in the shipping department
The fact that no one responded to one of three URGENT phone messages left on Friday
The fact that a supervisor on Friday told me she would escalate the call and still no one called me
The fact that the package – which was clearly marked “must arrive on Friday 1/8″ in the order notes did not ship until that day
The fact that the shipping department did not do me the service of a call when they realized they were shipping my order on the day it was to arrive
or
The fact that SO MANY things could go wrong with one order
I did finally speak to Diana – the Director of Operations – though they did not offer any type of incentive to keep my business (free pillow or throw – anything) – they did have LOTS of excuses that for some reason the order taking center was not aware of:
The package was to go out on Thursday – but there was a storm and no one came in (someone should have called)
There was a skeleton crew in the shipping department on Friday also due to the storm (still someone should have called)
The shipping department and the order taking department are not in direct contact with each other – nor can order taking reps see into the complete history of the order – which they should be able to do if customer service calls are being forwarded to them when busy or out of the office
I realize that you in no way guarantee or endorse this company – and I can tell from the way you spoke on the phone that you were very please with them.
I do wish you would retract your on air recommendation – and I would hope that your reputation regarding such matters is important.

Hi Wendy; my name is Mike Solomon, and I am a native of Philadelphia, but now lives in Durham,NC. I am a 48 year old .I know I have what it takes to open your show. I always love to write, but for so many years my family had me to believe that i couldn’t become a writer. I was told to stop carry so much junk around with me (pencils and paper). That negativity from my family had stuck in my brain for so many years, it had got to the point that maybe they are right, that I can’t become a writer.My family was preventing me to get TO THE OTHER SIDE of that road block. As years went by I started writting different things, but that negativity from my family was still there. So I had spent plenty of days and nights crying myself to sleep and seperating myself from the family. As I begin to attmpt to write my book, I had no one to help me or to guide me in the right direction. I will say To GOD BE THE GLORY, by the grace of God, he gave me the power and the strength to persue my dream. and with the help of my favorite author, the late( LYNN HARRIS) with his support and his guideness I would not be where I am today. I just wanted to say I heard about your show from The Soup and Joel McHale. I have been a loyal fan of that show for years and watched enough clips from week to week of your show and the humorous banter back and forth from you and Joel. That finally was enough to make me tune in about two weeks ago to your show. You are hilarious! You are like watching a regular person; not someone tainted by the desired perfection of “Hollywood”.
Keep up the great work, and I hope that you will have a run bigger than Oprah!

You mentioned on todays show about why it is called “Black Friday”
I believe it is because it is the day that stores hope to turn any negative sales numbers into the positive, and on old adding machines the minuses were printed in red ink and the positives in black! Thus calling it Black Friday!

hey wendy diz iz porsha i am 14. and i live in chicago.. im sending you because, i no you have alot of celebreties on. But i really would like to speak on your show about the violence. i just would like for people to hear from a actual teen that has been involved. not in gangs but a part of the violence. i know that you are busy so if you reject my letter, i understand. but i am just asking for a chance for people to here me out about the violence that is going on. and how it is being. i, myself is a violent and have been slowing down as far as violence goes. this would be a good opportunity to just reach out to the ones that feel they have to be violent, and to let them know there is another way.

Hi Wendy my name is Tracy Latimer, and I wanted to say I thank God for you being one of the people in my life who made me laugh months after I loss my 3yr old daughter. You were on the radio in Philly, my job used to listen to you. So I ended up joining them. YOU HAD ME ON THE FLOOR! LOL. Then one day your husband came into the studio with the champagne and told you to pop your collar. You left!!!!!!!!!! I was devastated! So I listened to you on satalite, then VH1, so this show has been a long time coming. You are indeed a friend in my head. My husband left me last year after we was together for 2 1/2 yrs married 8 mos. I was crushed. I am a full time student at Temple University. Wendy I am a Senior, God helped me I did it! I will be graduating on May 13, 2010. (Bachelor Degree in Social Work) Can you please, I humbly ask; invite me to your show for a graduation treat? Hey Wendy! How YOU doin?!! Just wanted to let you know that everyday I DVR your show. Just watching you come out in the beginning of the show puts a smile on my face! First i love your show and DVR it daily
Second – its late nite and cant sleep and finding a little comfort in some WW recordings… and watching you talk about new moon on an episode before thanksgiving. Listen – clearly you have not read or watched the series thus far. i wanted nothing to do with it myself and then gave on and let me tell you… i read all 4 books in a week and i am not a reader… its not about wolves and vampires as much as its a love story and its wonderful… and all that love the series love it for the same reason. So give it a try over Christmas break. i know you’ll love it!

Hey Wendy and How you dooooin? I would die to be picked to open your show for you because first and foremost Im your biggest fan. I’ve been a fan of the show and of yours for so long way long before the show back when you was on the radio with Charlamagne! I love you so much, you are the big sister I never had and you are so beautiful everyday. Wendy Im struggling, I suffer from epilepsy, had cancer 5yrs ago and also I’ve been HIV positive for 5yrs, Im doin amazing everyday, god has truly blessed me and continues to everyday! You are my idol and I love and admire you so much, its my dream to meet you and come to your show. I don’t have the finances to make it to your show all the way in New York without your help my love, Also about 5-6yrs ago I was having a seizure and fell down 3 flights of stairs and busted my front tooth out, Wendy its so embarrasing for me to go through life all this time and be embarressed to smile, I never ask for much but Im dying to meet you and ask you for your help.
