Kanye West Says He’s Not the New King of Pop
On a recent show, Wendy read a quote where Kanye West claimed now that Michael Jackson is dead that he is the new King of Pop.
Wendy attributed the quote to Scrape TV, but Kanye insists he never said anything of the sort.
In a blog on his website this weekend, Kanye said,
“I WAS JUST LISTENING TO WENDY WILLIAMS AND HEARD SOME QUOTE ABOUT ME SAYING I’M THE NEW KING OF POP. NOT ONLY DID I NOT SAY THAT, I HAVEN’T SAID ANYTHING. IT MAKES ME FEEL BAD THAT OBVIOUSLY I MADE PEOPLE FEEL THAT I WOULD BE CORNY ENOUGH TO SAY SOMETHING SO WHACK AFTER THE PASSING OF AN IDOL, A LEGEND AND MORE THAN THAT A HUMAN BEING WITH FEELINGS AND FAMILY.”
“IT SCARES ME TO THINK WHAT PEOPLE WILL BELIEVE, WITHOUT EVEN A SOURCE. ANY RANDOM PERSON CAN TYPE SOMETHING ON THE INTERNET AND THEN THE WORLD BELIEVES IT. This is just like that case when Shane Fitzgerald, an Irish college student, intentionally put incorrect information on wikipedia right after a composer died. He posted it as a quote to see how often so-called “journalists” actually check their sources. The quote was used in major media across the world. They didn’t catch the error until he emailed them and confessed to what he had done. No one had even bothered to check the source. ScrapeTv tells you Kanye said something. Did you bother to get proof that he said it? Did you ask if anyone else heard it or saw where he posted the sentiment? He claims that he doesn’t even do tv or interviews anymore and you know…I haven’t seen him or heard about him doing anything but good music and great live shows in a long time. So, I’m inclined to believe him. Meanwhile, gossipers won’t believe the truth even if Jesus said it because it’s more fun to deal with bad than good, the extravagant than the ordinary, the fake than the real.
I have to put this before I’m misquoted: I am NOT comparing anyone to Jesus; no one deserves that exaltation. I’m merely pointing out that even when faced with the Truth, people chose to believe lies and ignore His awesomeness.
