After 23-years on the airwaves, Wendy announced that she is leaving radio to focus on her new TV show and spend more time with her family.

“I want to tell all of my fans that after July 31st, I will no longer be doing a show with WBLS,” Wendy said. “I really was blessed to have a broadcast home in NY on radio for the past 7 years and I want to thank everyone who supported me. I have one of the best jobs in the world, making a difference in the lives of my fans made all the difference to me and I look forward to doing the same thing in my new role as a TV host.  My hope is that you will do your best to find me on your remote so I can continue to entertain and inform you each and every day.”

  1. i honestly believe you should continue to do both, because the way the economy is today u never know what could happen or at least leave the radio station in a good manor so if you had to you could come back with no problems.

    You’ll be SO missed on the radio! The one hour on tv won’t quite fill the four hour timeslot that we’ve been use to. I’m just getting over loosing the 6:00-7:00 hour that NYC use to get! But I do understand. (sniff,, sniff..) No one would want you risking your health!

    Best of luck with your TV dream! The show is fierce! Keep focused and keep on doing whatever is the Best thing for Ms.Wendy!!

  6. Wendy, I applaud your decision to leave radio to focus on your show. I wish you the greatest success in this new venture. You’re the best!! Side note on “baby sis Solange”, I like her new doo! And I like that she has her own personality….a little truculent at times but you have to be get by (I’m a little sis too). Again, All the best and Congrats! Love you!!!!

  7. Wendy I hope to God that some radio station will present you with a very lucrative offer to lure you back to radio in some way shape or form. On your own terms most importantly. You are a NY radio staple. The TV show and radio show are two totally different animals. The radio show is the best, from your music tracks from your trunk to the sound effects with Goose. I urge you to reconsider your decision and find a way to make the two work in harmony with one another. Until you do this there will be a gaping void in NY radio. You’re a true friend in my head and remember where there is a will there is a way. NY radio NEEDS you!!! Even if it’s just for a couple hours a day. Continue to be blessed.

    Sorry to hear you are leaving, you will be missed. Good luck and all the best. I love the radio and I love the TV show even more. If I miss it in the day on work I check it out at nights. You look wonderful continue being yourself.

  11. My opinion Wendy leaving radio to soon. Everything that starts good sometime does not end up good. Your moving to fast. Most things start off good ,but does it stay good. You have to remember you talk about people.(negitive)If I was a star I would’nt come on your show. Watch what you say baby girl,Watch what you say. LOL YOU SHOULD CONTINUE RADIO AT LEASE 1 YEAR, AND YOU WILL SEE IF TV IS FOR YOU. hOW YOU CAN UP AND LEAVE YOUR LISTENERS IN 6 DAYS SHOWS YOU ARE ONLY IN IT FOR 1 REASON.   12. Wendy good luck If you ever have Spike Lee on your show. I like to be there. My son went on an audition,for an commerical.(which you advertised) He was a picked by the agency to go on additions. He went to an audition for the knicks and was picked to do the commerical (by Spike Lee) He did a commerical for the Knicks. It was not aired,because it ran to long. So they cut my son out. I would just like to let Spike know that my son never knew who he was until he met him. My son just can’t understand why he was cut out . Age 8 at time now 11. He loves basketball

  13. OMG I FEEL LIKE I JUST LOST MY AUNT!!!! NOO JOKE IM BALLING RIGHT NOW LIKE MY GRANDMA JUST DIED MY HEART IS CRUSHED! of course when you have some one thats as wild as you people will always think “ohh she needs to get fired” but thats what makes you you and as soon as i heard the news officially was from your niece(Alexandra) i actually met her outside the studio today…. HOW YOU DOIN ALEXANDRA! lol but i actually met her by your studio and she is really a sweet heart and so cute :-) but i was happy to meet her and once i got home and turned on the radio it all kicked in and im not happy that your giving up your talk show but you need to baby girl i listened to you all the time but(no offense) you sounded bad like your voice was gone and you need it you really need the break and you never leave your first love when your 90 and your tv show is over your gonna comeback to radio and be even crazier but, im having a very bitter sweet moment, but i understand you love your kevins and family and health comes first so feel better cause i know you’ve been kind of sick and i’ve been listening to you since the 7th grade and im about to be a junior in high school and you have really taught me soo much aunt wendy, it would be cool if you could have the sound effects on ya tv show but i no that might not happen but it would be cool and (as you can see this is all over the place because thats how i feel on the inside) good luck wendy i love you soo much im still crying but its because i really love you that much god bless you so much kevin will be so glad to have “MOMMA”lol back home and i love you for entertaining us for so many years and its not the end just a new begging as on door closes another one opens but in this case it right away so your like the case of the revolving door lol and i really love you and i cant express that enough thats for the laughs, memories, advice, love negrosity and everything inbetween I LOVE YOU!! and btw i met you at the apollo a couple of years back and A MESS! and THATS WHY I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU…..i guess im on a wendy diet only 1 hour a day,……..LOVE YOU AND CANT WAIT TO HEAR YOU ON THE AIR WAVES AGAIN.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Wendy, my favorite news lady, you can not leave me. I love the talk show just as much as the radio show, but what the hell am I going to do from 2pm to 6pm. I’m at work til 2:30pm, then as I’m leaving my headphones are in my ears. I will be lost for a while, but I’ll get over it since I can still hear your voice. What’s even better is that now I can see your animated, fabulous self. Oh by the way, I heard how you blasted your parents today on the radio. Sometimes we gotta give our parents a piece of our minds. And that’s how you do it. You kept it very sharp & respectful though. Stay blunt, but beautiful! I’ll see you later on tonight, Wendy! No homo, but “Hah you do-in?”

  17. Wendy, I love you! I’ve loved you longtime *suki suki la* and I’m sad that you’re leaving radio but I understand given the way BLS has been throwing shade for a good little bit now and you need to use the wings that you’ve grown. I’m praying for you to grow into your television persona and will be watching every day no matter what.

    The idea of you loving the audience and showing them love during your show is very generous, however, real talk, I could care less about what your audience thinks about hot topics (I hate the blue papers too, use index cards with the Wendy logo on the side facing the audience). The Ask Wendy segment needs to drop the audience participation and get questions from the online community (so they can be hand picked by your staff for valuable content) the audience questions are terrible/boring and you can give your usual Wendy. Content-wise the rest of the show works for me.

    I will support you regardless…I will miss you on the radio but do your thing girl. Have fun…be your 100% self and be blessed.

  18. Wendy…Wendy…Wendy. I am in tears. I listen online from Memphis, TN and now what am I going to do? I guess go home from work on time. I am so HOOKED, I generally work later because I am listening to you and am afraid if I leave I would miss something on my drive home. My office hours are around 6ish to 2:30ish CST, so I have been giving my company free hours. :-) Although I am going to miss you on the radio…the DVR is set to record your show everytime it comes on. “Hopefully I am helping the rating”. Girlfriend in my head…what I am going to do without hearing you on the radio. Dang it, radio will never be the same.

    Just to let you know…when you were off the radio for more than one day I was calling WBLS 212-447-1000; asking where are you and when are you coming back. I guess the receptionist will get a break now. And no…I am not How You Doin, just a true fan. Luv you…girlfriend/big sister in my head.
